Had a chance to do some off roading in the E this weekend while out camping. Learned just what the E can and can't do. First, the E is actually pretty good in a bit of mud. I drove it through some nice goopy stuff, about 8 -10 inches deep. Fared quite well considering. Underside held onto a lot of the mess. A little throttle always helps the situation, as anyone who has driven in mud knows.

The E's approach angles were actually better than i expected. Just when I thought I'd scrape, I would find some footing for the tire and hop over:

The E isn't too flexible off road. Easy to get a tire up, as i did entering almost every gully, ditch, creek, etc. No probelm though, very predictable and stable over it all:

1st gear is still pretty high and without a transfer case, you really go too fast for any kind of technical off roading, but it sure was fun anyway. Probably took a thousand miles off my clutch, but who cares? 8)

Wow, great pics Snarf... but did you steal my "E"!? ;)

Here's mine. This was as far as I ever came to going "off road, and then I had to wash the poor thing!

Snarf77; where did you go off roading? I saw yer in Burke, Va; I'm looking forward to trying to find some trails in Shenandoah to play with the E a little and do some camping. I usually go out to George Washington National Park near Front Royal for camping; but I'll be doing some digging on the internet to see if there are some trails out that way for exploring.
