Hello fellow E owners. I am currently in the process of planning to change the speakers. I have the 270 watts system that comes standard with the EX. But i am curious as to whether i need to change the amp too if i get new speakers and a new head unit which i am waiting on right now. Can someone help :?:

If the head unit has line outs (2 front/2 rear) you can keep the amp as-is. If not (that is, it only has speaker level out), you'll need a speaker-to-line-level adapter.*

*I used the latter, not because my head unit lacked the line outs, but because my speakerphone required working at speaker level and wiring it post-amp, which would be in the passenger side kick panel, was too difficult.

And Brendan, isn't there a How-To somewhere here (or did I see it on "another" forum) as to the wiring diagram that one would use in order to make the necessary custom RCA-to-Molex? adapters?
In other words, soopa, the factory amplifier has line-level inputs but they aren't standard RCA jacks.
Hope my understanding of the situation is correct.

Go to the topic list in the Mobile Electronics forum (this one) and read all the threads marked Sticky first...
