First offroading....
I had to help a buddy out at his construction site, which was a new housing development. Tons of wet clay and mud. The E handled flawlessly. When the front tires began to spin the rears picked up the slack. Don't think i'll ever get a 2wd car again!
downside:: I'm totally feemin for some more offroad action. Guess I'll wait for the snow.

At the end of August we drove up to Lake George for some camping. We rented a boat and camped out on one of the islands on the lake. The Marina has a dirt parking lot. It had rained 3 days straight before we came. Sure enough I drove the Element into to the parking lot and went thru a big mud puddle. My initial reaction was "Uh oh". As I pulled out of the puddle the front tires spun a bit but the rears took up the slack and I pulled right out of it. I finally found a patch of semi-dry grass to park on. Without AWD I think I definitely would've been stuck.
Did good. I'm definitely up for some off roading this winter. 8)
