Hey guys. My girlfriend and I are driving cross country because we're moving from NYC to Las Vegas. We have 10k on the Element and stock tires already, but I'm looking for replacements. We're leaving very soon (oct. 11th) so time is of the essence. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Was looking at BFGoodrich Radial Long Trail T/A's. And would going up to 225/70/16 give any benefit?
P.S. Not looking for Bridge/Firestone tires, g/f was involved in one of the first of the blowout fiascos and will not step into a vehicle with those tires on it.
Thanks,
logic~

Stop by the Tirerack warehouse in South Bend, IN on your way west.

i would love to, but we are meeting the moving truck in las vegas at our new home, so we are on a strick time schedule. i would really like to go to tirerack's shop though, that would be great!
Definitely a dirth of selection in the stock Element size. So far THAT is my biggest complaint about the car. Although I think its a good size for the car.
Seems like the Nokian WR series ( ideal would be the "SUV" model) is the best choice for a "ALL season, ALL around" tire in the stock size. based on my current research. Unfortunately they are very hard to find and I think the WR SUV is still "To Be Announced" which is obviously not in time for you. You might call around for it or see if its available in the 225.
I can think of at least a half dozen tires that would be IDEAL for the Element...alas....not available in the rare Element size. :?

I have the Nokian WR-T series...I think it is the light truck/small SUV one.
They are great, but if you are moving to a place with no snow, it would be waste, go for a summer tire or a wet tire.
