Does anyone have pics of where they mounted their aftermarket amps? I have seen one of a JL amp mounted under the passenger seat but they had to cut the vent ducks which is not an option for me. Is there room to mount one under the front passenger dash i.e, just above where their feet wood be against the firewall. Also, is it hard to run the wire under the plastic flooring and if so where is everyone else running there wires? FYI, I am not an owner of an E yet but am planning on selling my Type-R to get one so I am doing my research. Thanks for any help any of you can give. :D
I'm also interested to hear some answers on this. I have my 4 gauge power wire just hanging out in the open with my RCA and remote wire. I dont believe there is enough room to tuck the wires under the side panels on the floor, but I could be wrong...
I dont have any pictures but I did mount my amp under the front passenger seat. I didnt have to cut the vent duct at all, just a bit off the plastic covering/panel that covers the duct. I was a bit hesitant to damage my E in any way, but it was pretty simple and Im happy about the way it turned out. You cant tell that the panel was cut at all since everything is hidden under the seat.
Emass and an bunch of other owners have done the same. I definitely recommend this as the place to hide your amp.

It seems like there is alot of room behind the dash on the drivers side. Does anyone know why there would be a problem mounting my amp there? I put it up there and it fit with plenty of room, and it would minimize wire runs to the speakers and head unit. Thanks drew

Hiding wires actually isn't a big deal, that plastic mats are simply manageable and if you run the power wire along the sides of the panels, zip tie it to the metal structures and you should be just fine. I ended up having a custom speaker enclosure made that would also house the amps. I suppose the final cost would be most limiting and the fact that I lost some cargo space. In my case my amps were far too large to fit under the seat so hopefully you won't have the same problem.

Where behind the dash were you thinking?
When I did my empeg/pioneer/speakerphone install, I notice there was a rather large void in the area behind the instrument cluster...

Hey Brendan yep thats where I was thinking. Behind the inst. pannel. It also might be a place to put a custom made sub cabinet since I have and LX and am trying to find a place for my 10" sub. I use my E on the job and carry a large tub where the rt. rear seat would be and the area behind the seats have 5 large suitcase style parts kits, a vac, and a tool kit and hand cart.
