This past Saturday my wife and I went down to Cannan, West Virginia to check out accomodations for a January ski trip and while there decided to do a short hike. The road in was a bit rough but certainly doable, even without the Element.
After the hike I asked my wife where the road led if we continued onward instead of going back the way we came. She said into Blackwater Falls but the road got a bit rougher. "A bit rougher", what an understatement. For 4 miles we went along at 5 MPH down into stream gullies and up rocky inclines - not too unlike a Jeep ad. There was a fairly steep drop on the left side and the right side was all bushes.
Well, the Element made it without any problems (aside from getting very dirty) and when we came out of the last gorge we came across a group of guys with Jeeps and big 4 WD trucks looking amazed that we did this in our Element. As we were driving away one of the guys said "They did it in that"?
Love my Element!!!!
