: Colors!!!
GYPSYTDA 02-04-2003, 08:34 AM Hi all thought I would have some fun with colors.. share what your favorite Element color is (and perhaps why) or which color you did buy (and why)!!
With me it was blue, it has always been my favorite color & the blue on the element is dreamy, not too dark not too light.. just right! I can not help but smile when I see it!
I was going to consider as a second choice the Green, really is neat.. and as much as my hubbie loves my Element, perhaps we will have to be a 2 Element family.. his green mine blue! But we do like to have something with awesome mpg for his drive to work, sooo when it comes time to fully retire our Integra, we shall see...
1manparty 02-04-2003, 09:12 AM Galapagos Green! That is my favorite! With blue being second. I think the green gives a slightly military look and tough looking! While the blue is is more professional or more mature look.
Hi all,
For me, I am color blind, so my wife made the call. She did not like the Orange, and thought that most of the other colors would show the dirt real well.
Our dealer was lucky, he had several different colors in stock (maybe we were lucky, who knows), so we were able to look at a few. The Green just did it for her, and I just loved the style of the Element, so we got it.
tommy.roks 02-04-2003, 11:37 AM i had voted for the blue. since thats the first color that caught my eye.
ALMONDOG 02-04-2003, 07:53 PM i agree with 1MANPARTY i like the green it does have that military look ,i wonder if honda has an optional 50 cal. machine gun mount for it
GYPSYTDA 02-04-2003, 08:28 PM yeah I too would like a nice roof mount machine gun, and with the sunroof it could be a tank, you could have a gunner stand in the back operating the guns, and you drive to keep the kill in line!
Imagine how nicely that would take care of those pesky traffic issues!
I have the whole vision ya know.. of course the head light weapons would be cool too.. with the flip of a switch.. the ultimate High Beam... (missile launcher!) grin.. yeah i always got along with boys better as a child can you tell?
metooE 02-04-2003, 09:35 PM How come black is not listed in your poll?? :(
ibutchman 02-04-2003, 09:51 PM Yeah, whats up with that? I want a recount! Gypsy, sure your not from Florida?
P.S. Knowing Gypsy I'm sure it was an honest mistake.
Hey now that we are talking about add on weapons, do we need to move this to the options catagory? Living in NYC, most come stock with a few guns.
Gyp, yeah, how come you left off Black?
Reddawg 02-05-2003, 10:16 AM I decided upon the silver since I wanted a light reflective color, to keep it cool for my dogs <what else?>....I love the orange in the brochures but wasn't able to see in in person.
Plus I drive on dirt roads and silver doesn't show the dust as badly.
Patty
GYPSYTDA 02-05-2003, 11:37 AM metooE & Crew: my apologies I had it on there but I musta made a boo-boo and it did not show up, I have added it now.. I sincerely Apologize!
It is on there now, and again sorry, forgive me, please...
lon777 02-05-2003, 12:30 PM Put me down for a blue vote. The color is so beautiful in bright sunlight and at night it looks purplish-red due to the metal flake colors. Very cool and very relaxing!!! I would however like to see an orange one. Actually i haven't seen another E on the road here in OK city.
GYPSYTDA 02-05-2003, 01:06 PM as far as I can see in DE I am the lone Element owner (I can live with that)... I will post if I have any Element sightings of course!
Blue is my Element & my favorite color too!!
Dennis1 02-06-2003, 10:33 AM I really like my Shoreline Mist. This color looks good and does not show the dirt or dust hardly. Mine sits outside all the time and this color does help it look cleaner than it really is.
Saw a blue one coming up from the rear, passed and kept on movin' while on my way home from work last night. Inspired me to drive by my dealer and see what's new. My local dealer has a couple of blue EX's, one of which I **need** to get into, drive & buy!
GYPSYTDA 02-06-2003, 03:01 PM cool pt4, let us know when ya get it.. the blue is stunning!~
superskunk 02-09-2003, 08:10 PM I got the Blue EX 2WD. I think I bought two cars! In the daylight, the color is electric and lively-- very fun! In the evening, it's understated and cool. The blue with the allow wheels (the fogs, running boards, and roof racks don't hurt) look just wonderful.
That said, I do have to spend $4 every 4-5 days on a touchless wash. Otherwise the build up starts showing. But even to my surprise, the E looks pretty cool, almost rugged, when dirty. Still, I like to keep it clean.
Derek
GYPSYTDA 02-09-2003, 09:11 PM Derek, yeah the blue is much more brilliant when clean, i too love my Blue all nice and clean!
We have snow, since last week it was about a foot, and more to come.. so I will have to hold off on the washing for now.. but i think my element will be just fine till then!
lon777 02-11-2003, 12:32 PM Gypsy- Looks us "true blues" are gaining on the Shoreline and Sunset crowd. Better start stumping for more blue votes.
GYPSYTDA 02-11-2003, 01:20 PM Oh phooey we are ppopular, or we just simply have awesome taste, grin!
Anonymous 02-17-2003, 03:24 PM Blue for me, whether Electron Blue on my CR-V or Eternal Blue on the E, it has always been a blue on whatever car I drive (except for the "rectum brown" on a Dodge Colt that I had no choice in choosing)
GYPSYTDA 02-17-2003, 05:40 PM [quote:e69c2f7765="Gypsy"]Blue for me, whether Electron Blue on my CR-V or Eternal Blue on the E, it has always been a blue on whatever car I drive (except for the "rectum brown" on a Dodge Colt that I had no choice in choosing)[/quote:e69c2f7765]
Welcome.. .and another Gypsy.. with BLUE! Very cool, and small world huh?
ibutchman 02-17-2003, 08:22 PM Gypsy,
I would be more worried about owning a Dodge Colt, than the color "rectum brown"
lyonsx2 02-18-2003, 10:06 PM Had to go with the Sunset Orange. Everybody loves the color even if they hate the style. (Except for the TAMU aggies - they hate everything orange)The blue would have been my second choice.
bones 02-21-2003, 02:35 PM Mine is the silver version. I was set on blue when I went to the dealer, but the silver just looked so slick!
burnt-O 02-22-2003, 05:16 PM My dealership had blue and silver in stock, but when they told me they were expecting the arrival of orange and that it was the rarest color, I decided to go for it. I've always liked to have a car that was "different" in some way!
I'm getting mine in Sunset Orange. I chose that because Orange and Black are the team colors at the college I'm going to. (Oklahoma State University) :D
PhillyElement 03-01-2003, 11:52 PM SAtin silver, it sorta picked me. I liked orange, but the dealer had the silver there and I didn't want to wait, so silver it was!!! :D
kavetter 03-07-2003, 09:06 PM I just got what they had... It happened to be blue. But I like the blue :)
Anonymous 03-10-2003, 04:34 PM [quote:6a2c1a0cb8="Dennis1"]I really like my Shoreline Mist. This color looks good and does not show the dirt or dust hardly. Mine sits outside all the time and this color does help it look cleaner than it really is.[/quote:6a2c1a0cb8]
Me too!
Sasquatch 03-11-2003, 05:59 PM Shoreline Mist... picked it up yesterday!
I originally wanted Galapagos Green, but there were none to be found in 5-speed. I am very happy about my alternate choice.
Peace...
Tom
Red_Integra_GSR 03-20-2003, 06:04 PM Orange has to be the best color of the Element. I looked at every color before I made my decision. I see that everyone agrees with me. At this time, it has the highest amount of votes. I know it gets a lot of looks.
droidian 03-24-2003, 02:55 PM SOP EX 4WD. I just think the SOP is an eye-catcher, above and beyond the E itself.
I also like the blue but my previous truck was dark blue.
Pecoskid66 03-24-2003, 09:33 PM I had to go with Shoreline Mist since I love South Padre Island. I really like the color but I think it shows dirt just like any other car. I am a short person who will be trying to wash her car next weekend. Any tips on reaching the top? Other than a ladder?
cjans7784 03-24-2003, 09:44 PM I have this color and with all the new pics of the SOP, I have been wondering if I should have waited for that color to arrive at the dealership becuase it looks cool.
This weekend though, (fist weekend of Spring) I was at the grocery store and when I came back and looked at my vehicle, I thgouth WOW, what an awesome color? Te color change in the hue from the Winter which makes it look more silver to the Spring time color is unblieveable/fabulous and I fell in love with it all over again. I am so glad I went with the Shoreline Mist. Could not imagine myself with anything else. You have to see it!
shaddow 03-25-2003, 04:25 PM Can't decide between the Galapagos Green and the Eternal Blue. I really wish that they had come out with a Burgundy or Bordeaux colour here in Canada. I think that it would look great in Burgundy with the grey fender panels.
JesseL22 03-31-2003, 09:22 PM JUST BOUGHT MY ELE!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE IT, VERY HAPPY, PUT 100 MILES ON IT TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IF YOU DONT HAVE ONE, GET ONE...AFFORDABLE, ROOMY, AND GREAT SOUND SYSTEM, PLUS ITS A HONDA and IT WILL LAST A LIFETIME IF YOU TREAT HER/HIM WITH THE RESPECT IT DESERVES!!!!!!
JESSE
misfit 04-08-2003, 05:39 PM every car we've owned has been green, but the galapogos green is truly unique. :D
beyondnascar 05-20-2003, 07:17 AM Black.... my favorite!
mikeyj 05-21-2003, 02:25 PM I'm sick of that silver-blue Honda color that used to be on EVERY Honda you saw, so that was out. Black? Only for street rods. Maybe it would look nice on a chopped and channeled Element. I did see a soccer mom in a black Element, which made me think, great car for hauling your kids around at night.
Blue is attractive but boring. The gold looks cheesy to me. Orange looks really bold- and I think it would look great parked next to my cedar-shingle covered house in the fall. But it's not a very relaxing color, and I think it would really grate on me after a while.
Which leaves green. Relaxing, pacific green. The color of the "Eye-ease" lined paper we learned to write on in elementary school in the 60s. Sure, I'd prefer a real military OD green, but this'll do.
Stephen Dax 07-18-2003, 11:27 PM I went with the Sunset Orange pearl. I originally had put a deposit on an Eternal Blue Pearl but I had to wait another week for it to come in. I traded a 93 Bonneville in purple nicknamed the Bonne-VILE/ massive eggplant. Anyways it had transmission problems/shifted when it felt like it. 4 days into my wait...the dealer called me w/ an avail Sunset Orange EX. I couldn't be happier!!
Stephen Dax 07-18-2003, 11:30 PM I went with the Sunset Orange pearl. I originally had put a deposit on an Eternal Blue Pearl but I had to wait another week for it to come in. Anyways it had transmission problems/shifted when it felt like it. 4 days into my wait...the dealer called me w/ an avail Sunset Orange EX.
It seems more red and reminds me of the color of my red/maroon (forget the name of the color) 1989 Accord LXi coupe and 1992 Accord DX coupes I had in the past.
VengaBus 07-20-2003, 12:52 AM When I first went to test-drive, I drove a SOP automatic and thought it was kinda cool , but wasn't sure I'd like it everyday. Now I've seen more of them, and like them a lot. My neighbor wants to get an SOP E, and was surprised when we showed up with our E accross the street. I bought GGM. I wanted a 5-spd and had a choice of SSM or GGM that were in stock. Checked them both out inside and out and liked the GGM the best, with the green trim inside. My partner says it looks like a Japanese army truck.
PetersonMD 07-31-2003, 12:13 PM Galapagos Green for me! It looks great with the Gray panels!
The Sunset Orange was my second color of choice. (My son wanted orange!)
The Shoreline Mist was choice 3 as it goes well with the gray panels also but I thought it was too civilized looking and elegant looking for me.
I also picked Green because it had the lighter gray interior and I thought the darker black interior that came with the orange and shoreline E's was just too dark inside.
I work for the Federal Government and the green does give it a slight military look!
Enjoy your E's!
crut1 08-13-2003, 05:30 AM Eternal blue pearl! georgous!
MrCLoWnY 08-17-2003, 02:57 PM I first test drove the shoreline mist and i liked it alot.... However, when i saw the black interior on the Black element i fell in love with it.... I believe the SOP has the black interior but i tought maybe the color would fade after couple of years.... SO black with black was the choice with me.
cjans7784 08-17-2003, 08:48 PM Silver has the lighter inside w/ the blue. Shoreline Mist (mine) has the dark interior and the lighter gray accents. I with that the Shoreline Mist was a bit darker or a bit different, it is too close the Silver IMO. When the two are together, you can certainly tell the difference but here in the midwest where we do not have the best skies all the time to do the SLM justice.
Take care, I have not seen an E that I do not like. Am anxious to see the new FIJI Blue that I have been reading about.
Redpunk 08-21-2003, 10:21 AM EBP :!:
sbodi4d 08-23-2003, 01:25 AM I liked the EBP, but since my wife will be driving it more she got to pick the color. GGM. Guess I will just have to get my own EBP now. Man I hate when that happens. 8)
DahuiHawaii 08-30-2003, 04:27 PM :D Sunset orange Pearl! what can i say nothing like orange reminds me of da sunset @ da beach especially Sunset Beach beutiful!
bluehighways 10-08-2003, 11:00 PM Eternal Blue pearl :D
marinus 10-18-2003, 12:08 PM My summer place is in a town named Shipbottom.... Shoreline Mist, of course.
Keep on Truckin'
Don
HappyCamper 10-18-2003, 02:02 PM ... Orange was the color of the first Element that my friend and I saw as we were coming out of Blockbuster's one night. It really caught our eye, and we had to walk over to see who made it and to check it out a little closer. I got home and checked out the features of E on the web, and I think that at that point I was hooked, on the E as well as the orange. My salesman and I drove to the storage lot so that I could check out all the colors together, and I stil kept coming back to orange.
After having my SOP for 3 months, I've found that I like that it looks like it's so many different colors depending on the light. My friend Mary and I recently took a trip from Dallas to North Padre Island, Texas, and camped on the beach for 3 days and 2 nights. Here is a picture of the reflection of Sunrise off of my SOP (with multiple coats of Zaino polish)...

mentele 11-12-2003, 10:11 AM When I first saw the E i hated it! But then a funny thing happened, I got curious and as I researched the E I found myself liking them more and more. By the time I decided to go drive one I had looked at Honda's site and SOP was "featured" when you clicked the Element link - I hated it! When I went to the dealer they had a SOP on the showroom floor and I couldn't beleive how much I liked it! Anyway my vote - SOP!
8)
dfish 11-12-2003, 07:17 PM Shoreline Mist = My Must-have
SMM, being a "warm-tone silver" seems to soften and complement the body armor, plus it's a distinctively but subtly different color than most of the silver vehicles on the road today (...and it won't show dirt!).
SOP was a definite consideration, but I traditionally keep my cars for 5-6 years and I worried that SOP would be (RIP) rather untrendy in 2009.
PEachMonstEr 01-30-2004, 12:57 PM green its the color of my alma mater, Slippery Rock University. Inmate University of Pa sucks.
