I sleep in the back which works fine even with my 6 foot 5 inch frame. The only problem is getting out. There is no rear hatch handle on the inside. I have to reach for the front door handle so then I can get the suicide door open. Would a remote key work the rear hatch?

I've done it, however, since I normally use a tailgate tent when sleeping in the Element, I have had very little need for this modification.

I camp in the back of my E all the time. Just lay a sock or a rag over the latch when you close the back upper hatch. The hatch closes 95% of the way but doesn't latch. When you wake up, just give the upper part a shove and the hydraulics do the rest. I think it was mentioned in the linked post about the fix, but here it is again.
