i made a great deal on a 2wd EX Manual...which is still valid, as long as I want....im just waiting for the pricing on the 4wd 5-speed

anyone hear anything?

my dealer thinks honda might bail on it....he said it is really odd that the pricing is still unavailble, and if they dont bail, that the actual delivery dates are way way way off.....like end of summer....anyone? :shock: :mrgreen:

Interesting... last we were told by some reliable sources (and this was a couple months back) was that they'd be out May/June timeframe. I have not heard anything different but that doesn't mean that things haven't changed. Actually, I thought some of our members actually have deposits down on some of those, so....should be interesting.

my dealer did say/confirm that they are indead taking deposits on them....but he admitted that the prices they are quoting are highly inflated and that people are still wanting to put the deposit down anyway

A dealer called me today claiming that the 4WD 5 Speeds were indeed coming soon, first the DX's would be available and then the EX's. I don't know what the time frame was, although since he was calling i would assume its coming up soon. I already bought a 2WD 5 speed because I weighed the benefit of 4WD and I just didn't really need it.

Hope that helps, doesn't give a date but does prove that dealers are getting information now about them.

Just call Honda's corporate 800#. I did last week, and was read a memo from a Customer Service Rep. stating that the 4wd stick AND side airbags will start going to dealerships in June.

The first build dates I show for the E 5spd AWD EX is 4/27 to 4/28. There are several on order, looks like 7 in the whole state of Texas due to be built those dates. The usual shipment and arrival time once they are built is within a 4-6 week window. This would mean that the earliest you might possibly see one at a dealership is end of May to early June.

Not sure how many were allocated in the other states, but I can find out if you tell me your location. Good luck

How about the Northern Virginia area ? I had put a deposit on one at a particular dealership back in early March but I don't know if they will be the first to get them or if I will even get the color I ordered.
Do you have any information on this area ?

This quote sounds like the guy wants to sell you a car he has in stock. I know your dealer later changed his story, but I would have reservations about dealing with a guy like this. I just found out today that my dealer is able to place my order for the 5spd AWD on April 15. He says a May build can mean a delivery date of May 20 or it could mean June 20th or even into July. I figure it's worth the wait to get the car you want, but I'm a little nervous becausethe lease I'm turning in is up in June.

I just came back from the dealer where we discussed the status on my order for my daughter's 5-speed 4wd. He said that the order he had put in before had been cancelled by Honda, but then they allowed him to re-enter an order for May production. I was guaranteed my color - Green. He was not sure about delivery but early June was mentioned. He said that mine was the first official order in Virginia.

That is strange because I ordered mine back in February and they told me Honda had accepted my order and that I would probably receive my EX AWD 5speed manual in orange by the end of May or early June. ( I live in Arlington, Virginia ) I was even told which allotment number that it was ordered. I was also told that the production date would be between May 10th and May 14th and there would be approximately a 2 week delivery period. I just hope mine doesn't get cancelled. I swear if it does I am going to blow a gasket myself. I have been anticipating the order of this particular vehicle since really early March.

I talked to a trusted person at one of the Largest Honda Dealers in the East and he told me when they start making them - they will be in very small numbers. He said Honda sent them notice that they will be restricted and made in low numbers initially.

My dealer promised that mine should be here no later than the first part of June since it is to be built between May 10 & 14. Since he told me Honda accepted my/his order on this next allotment wouldn't you think that Honda truly will deliver it :?: I guess worse case scenario is that I won't see it until July :roll: I don't know what I might do then, my other vehicle is literally falling apart and I need one NOW :(

LittleD, I understand your concerns. In our first allocation for the 5spd's we got "bounced" on two orders. It took us about 1 1/2 weeks to realize that even though Honda had accepted our entry, they changed it to an automatic. We were allocated 5 in this months move, so we put in for all 5 and will know soon if we got them all.

All I can tell you about your order, is that if Honda is indeed building your 5spd, it will show on the dealers "on-order" report. I can pull that report for you too if you would like. Just email me the dealer you purchased it from and I'll see if it comes up.
