Just got my E yesterday - fresh off the delivery truck to the dealer with only 6 miles on it. I have heard that it is best to let the paint cure for a while before waxing... is there truth to that or is it an excuse to be lazy? My E does not have the luxury of living under a carport or in a garage, so I want to protect the paint.
As we say in Tennessee, what do y'all think?

Not sure of the timing or particulars around that, but I'm sure some others on here will have some good advice. Meanwhile, with winter on the way I would not wait too long. I'm north of you in Illinois and we're looking at 30's/40's here all week and it's almost too cold for a good day of washing and waxing.
Welcome to our club! I'm sure you'll enjoy your E and I hope you'll be an active part of our community for a long, long time!

Well, you shouldn't wax until 30 days after the car was painted. So, 30 days after build date.

I would just notice how the water beads on the paint when you wash it. If it doesn't bead up, it's time to wax.
