Hey Patti,
I was surprized to see English Setters are your "kids". We are English Setter lovers, and just adopted a 9-year old and an 8 year old from English Setter rescue. English Setters are usually great family dogs, yet most people are unaware of the breed. If anyone is interested in knowing more about English Setters and possibly adopting one from rescue, contact us!

We use our Element to transport our 2 English Setters. We put the seats up to the side, and then put 2 dog beds on the floor. One essential item when transporting dogs, is a rubber-backed rug to put over the tailgate when the dogs jump in and out of the Element. This provides a nice grip for the dogs, plus it protects the tailgate plastic from scratches from their claws. I hesitate to use crates for dogs in cars because I have heard horror stories of dogs trapped in their metal crate after the accident because the latches have been bent from the accident, and in some cases the craate collapsed and the metal bars injured the dogs... so my gamble is to leave them loose in the Element.

hi Kay and Barry-

My husband is the one that talked me into getting Otis, the old man of the bunch, as his hunting companion when he was about 7 months old. I was horrified-i wanted a german shephard, as that is what I had as a kid etc. Low and behold I fell in love, and got two puppies in the past four years-i love the breed-I also stumbled onto the ACES website-Another chance for English setters rescue organization, and started donating, checking their website constantly! what a great bunch of people they are! Is that where you got your rescued ES? My dogs are the one of the biggest reasons i got the E-i love the interior! do you have pics of yours dogs? :)
