Just got finished doing the first oil change on the E at 4703 miles. Everything went smoothly and used the larger (80 mm) oil filter and Pennzoil 5W-20 oil. To remove the original small (65 mm) oil filter, you will need a RITE FIT size F cup wrench (i got mine at Pep Boys). To install the large oil filter use a RITE FIT size H cup wrench. One word of warning - the manual says to refill with 4.4 qts - this is WRONG. I would add and then check and eventually I required about 5.5 qts. With the larger filter, I expected to use more oil, but not that much. I must have got a real good drain. Anyway, add and check often to see what what quantity will be required on your particular E. You're dag gone right. The Element's specs say 5.6 quarts in the crankcase. I was happy to see that because more oil usually translates to longer engine life.

4.4 is WRONG.. Many people having been getting that one wrong, I'm afraid.
