Yeah I know this has been asked a lot of times but I searched and still don't have a clear answer. I've got TSW Reflex 18x7.5 with a offset of 42. I want to get 255/55/18 Toyo Proxes S/T. I believe Kevinells has this size tire on the same size rims and he says they work. After looking back at posts, I don't see where he says that they are 255/55/18, just 255 and 18. So, with the offset, would the 55 work or would I have to go with the 50? I checked the tire calc and they will be 4.3% to slow, but that really doen't bother me too much, I just don't want to be rubbing. I do want a little bigger tire like the 55 with more sidewall because they'll fill the wheel well more. Any thoughts?

i'm just guessing that they will rub.

compare them to the 235/70/16, which are also ~5% larger than stock in circumfrence (this seems to be the max size without rub). the 255/55 you want to run are also about 5% larger than stock, but are a full 10mm wider.

without knowing if the width at the strut tower is the comparable to the 235/70, i would bet that the extra cm of width (on the same offset as the stock) means rubbing.

maybe you could run the 255s if you change the offset?
