Finally another one here from TN. I've had mine about 5 months. Now, I've seen all the colors on the road. I might see one every 2 or 3 weeks.

I live in bristol tn/va and have had my E for almost a year now. I hate to say it but my wife hates it.. we have a 2yr old and she cant stand the fact she cant reach him in the back seat and that theres no center seating position. I bought it really without her input so i guess its my fault. In need to sell it because she wont drive it anymore. It is a blue ex 4x4 w/foglight,sidesteps,roofrack,ventshades,andmudguard s. Only 8800 miles...I paid around 24000 for it but would let it go for only 19500. I need your help. If you or someone you know wants an E let me know. rustpost@yahoo.com... I can send you pics if interested... Thanks Drew

Just thought i would drop a note here for all Tennesseers and especailly Memphis. I bought my SOP on NOv 26th. I must have gotten a good deal because by the time I closed the deal the saleman would not even shake my hand.
Anyway, its a 2wd EX with the mud gurard, wheel locks and pinstripe. Had to take the pinstripe because they were already installed. Got the roof rack and put it on myself. I custom cut the puzzle foam obtained from Sams to cover the floor from front seats to the tailgate(mostly to keep things from sliding around on the urathane floor). Finished out the bottom or the cupholders and dash shelves with a wicker looking shelving mat from target. Great ride and gonna put it on the road shortly. Down to Dallas or something. Loving every minute of it. Hope you are too.

PS this is a great site for info.

Hey Tennesseans -

Another SOP buyer here in Memphis. I see a fair number of them on the road here... I bought mine on Christmas Eve. Like OCB, I also got the mandatory pinstripe. :?

Glad to see so many others from nearby on this board - what a great place to share info!

I just put 945 miles on me Element driving from home to the land between the lakes Tennesse/Kentucky between 3/5 and 3/7. I only saw one Element, it was south of Nashville. A silver one heading south on I-65 @ 4:30 pm sunday march 7. I was doing 80 and could'nt catch up. I have to say I am amazed that there are'nt more on the road. If anyone saw me (I had a Yellow cargo carrier on the back) let me know.

They're all in Arlington VA. Every time I come home from the gym, I see a bunch in the parking lot and on my 1-2 mile journey...and if it's evening there's a different one parked on my street every night...

Granted, I live above a bar! :)

hoping they've got a designated driver,

:D Just bought and Orange EX with auot for the BBQ business. Will take delivery tomorrow. We are in Erwin, Tennessee and there are a few up here but no EX's till now. See us at www.tnribs.com or better yet, let's do an Element rendezvous in the mountains as we can certainly feed everyone and there are lots of camp grounds, hotels, and white water rafting, and the Appalachian trail here. :)

Erwin, Tennessee which is just south of Johnson City on the new I-26. We need to do a Volunteer Jam up here in the mountains. Y'all can gather at our restaurant, then we can head up in a tour de force to "Beauty Spot on top of Unaka Mountain for a great time, picnic and excellent photo op on top of the world in Northeast Tennessee. Could call it the annual Misty Mountain Hop to borrow a title from Led Zeppelin. What do y'all think
? Just got our 2004 SOP EX 4WD last night.. :D 8) :D

Drop me a line at gosborne@tnribs.com and check out the web site ,
www.tnribs.com and see if we can plan something for the fall. There is an apple festival here in Erwin the first weekend in October too. I think the story telling convention in Jonesborough is the same weekend.

Hi everyone! :)

Just joined and wanted to say Hi from Tipton Co. (Just North of Elvisville/Memphis).
I'm in the final stages of getting my first Element. My wife and I have an EX in Red on order and should have it next week.

Anyone out in this neck of the woods?
TTYL!
Mark

Congradulations Whitebear....and welcome...I'm in Middle but I have been to Tipton Co several times....I had a field crew that had a wreck in Covington in November and I had to go get them...that was a long Friday....left Nashville at about 12:00 noon and got back around 8:30 that night.

That's no way to spend a Friday night! I hope whoever started that whole mess for you, bought dinner at least.

But thanks for the welcome and I'll hopefully be able to meet some of you at the EOC gathering next year. :)

It was not thier fault...a lady decided to cross at a 2-way stop and they t-boned her at 55 mph.......it was a long drive but I bought dinner on the expense account

I am not going to the national meet this year (my wife has a family reunion) but maybe next time.

I look forward to seeing your pics.....My dad bought my first foreign vehicle...a 1985 Toyota Pickup. I did all of the maintenance on it since I was 15 (Oil Changes and such) and when he "wore it out", I bought it from him.....140,000 miles. I added another 100,000 miles to it and then traded it. I still miss that truck. I love my Element and would definitely buy another one. We have several things going on this summer but if I happen to get down to Memphis to the Zoo, maybe we can meet at the Rendezvous for some ribs and such.

That's only a couple of hour drive for me. How about we set up our own Tennessee E-Owner meet? Could say have it in or around Murfeesboro, or someplace else that central for all of us and make it a one day, or weekend long one.

What'cha think?

TTYL
WB

I tried to set one up in May and would definately be interested. Murfreesboro is ok, but we could meet in at the Natchez Trace Parkway (closer to you whitebear) and take a nice ride down the trace.....there is a bridge near Franklin that I love...there is a good place to park there as a meet-up place....not too far from Murfreesboro or Columbia....and probably an hour closer to Memphis. (Murfreesboro is probably 3 hours from you....

Here are some links that map out the area....I am definately interested.

Natchez Trace Parkway (http://www.nps.gov/natr/)

State of Tennessee Map (Big pdf File) (http://www.tdot.state.tn.us/Maps/front.pdf)

A nice trip to Lawrenceburg and back from State Route 96 at the Twin Arch Bridge (http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/eihd/natchez.htm) is a nice drive......70 miles each way from there.

Let me know if there is an interest to do this.....I am interested if there are others.

You have not seen it? My oldest son posed in front of one of the bents when he was 3.....it was under construction at the time....just finished the deck and he and I walked across it.....he is 13 now and probably does not remember it.

You are a surveyor? I am a Civil Engineer...might have worked from a survey of yours at some time.

Those sites look great!
I've never been down the Trace befor, so I know it'll be a great time. Count me in if we can get some more to get together with. We can pack lunches, or bring a grill and have a little social cookout of sorts. I don't know what the federal regulations are for something like this, but it's bound to be a blast no matter what happens.

But an extra hour is no big thing. It gives me more time behind the wheel of my E.

The bridge is great.....and the drive on the trace is nice also....it is better in the fall....but if we do it in June or July we can always plan for another one in October and maybe drum up some additional interest......you guys tell me when is a good time for you...I am on vacation and will be out of town around the 15 of July....but the end of June or early July looks good...that gives us some time to plan also.

I have a couple of friends that drive elements but don't have time for the forum....one or both of them may be interested.

Thomas Hughes was the author of the immensely popular Victorian novel Tom Brown's Schooldays, which was set in Rugby School, the well-known English public school that Hughes attended. In it, Hughes portrays the ideals of that school. Rugby created a generation of leaders with a sense of duty to their country.
