Been trying to figure out when I should get my Sirius Radio, which one to get and which subscription to get...
How good are the Sirius Sportster SP-TK1 PnP units? Are the boomboxes for them decent? What about the home kit, does it work ok?
Some of us were wondering about the Lifetime Subscription and I found the following in a post; but don't know if it is accurate. But is sounds like it could be promising. Might be worth the risk taking it since the chance for the Lifetime Subscription goes away the end of June of this year.
So, what do you know about this radio and the different subscriptions? if you have XM, I don't care... will never get it, have no use for it. Sorry, but that is the reality I am living in... you can choose to join me or not. :)
Sirius Lifetime Subscription Info... Found this on SiriusBackstage.com (http://www.siriusbackstage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15957&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15) Has anyone ever seen or heard of this before?
The lifetime subscription is NOT transferrable to another reciever unless your original reciever breaks and is not repairable. I am ordering a new car with SIRIUS built in and will have to try to finagle the bagel to get them to switch. The tech at SIRIUS says when that happens, a lot of people "report them stolen" then activate the new receiver. Later on, these "stolen" recievers are then activated by someone else, but since SIRIUS has them listed as "stolen", they won't activate them without a bill of sale from the original owner (or a police auction, I would imagine.)
(He hinted that "LOST" recievers don't have that problem...you report it as lost, activate a new one, then "find" it.)
Either way the first receiver will need a new subscription after the "replacement" unit gets activated.
This limited transferability does not apply to any monthly or annual plans.
