: XM in with Bracktron Bracket

OK I got this mainly in a few weeks ago, but finally got around to hiding the wires (sort of). Let me be the first to say that wiring and electrical stuff is like Latin to me, so hotwiring was not something I even wanted to try. I also did not want to toss out money for someone to do it.

So...I hid the wires and used the trusty Dremel to notch out some small holes under the passenger dash...good part is the small slips with the dremel are pretty unnoticable given its location. Also I got this idea for the wires from some other posts over on the .org site a while back.

The 12v strip has been pretty handy for charging both my wifes cell and mine, while listening to XM...couldn't use the standard splitter for 3 things :) Also for the last few weeks it was just held up by velcro...but since I had the dash piece off I drilled the holes for the small wings and used the screws...much more secure now.

Oh and the remote is simply held on by velcro above the sub box. The small wire holder behind the SkyFi2 actually came with the receiver...worked great. The Bracketron bracket came from www.myradiostore.us.

Um I think thats it. Any questions, just ask! Many of you have been invaluable in getting this done.

Pics to follow in subsequent posts...

Sorry if any of these were a little too blurry (flash not to good). If anyone needs anything more clear, just ask!

Wow, that looks great. Clean.

Question. Did you have to remove those dash parts to feed
the wires through? Either way, how did you do it? I have a
similar situation where I want to hide some wires back there.

Thanks.

Good job!

Thanks, ironically enough I posted some information here yesterday:

Although I did not elaborate enough on removing the dash pieces. Open the passenger door. The right side of the dash is long and sort of triangular. Give it a tug...it is only held on with clips. You will see 1 screw near the top on the left hand side, remove that. Bend down and look at that top dash piece...there will be 2 screws, remove those. Give this piece a tug, it will come loose. NOTE: the head of the vent will come off with this pieces, this is expected. You now have access to this area (note that in the photo I put a small notch with the dremel on the left hand side where the 3 wires go in as not to crimp or put pressure on the wires). The spiral wire connector helps over the hole.

If you want to mount or put holes in the flat black piece on the bottom of the dash (where I have the power strip mounted), just give it a tug...just help with clips.

If I have time I will dig up some pics from the "other site" that helped me understand how to remove the pieces. Unfortunetly I did not take any as I did the install.
