I just had my dealer install the fog lights and they botched it completely!!! The fog light holes was cut like it was tin foil. The bumper was scatched from top to bottom and they couldn't explain why it happened??? My speedometor was gouged 3 times and the service manager had the nervers to say that i did it!!! I only had the car for 2 weeks and 600 miles!!! Waiting for the Service manager to give me a call back if they are going to replace the Speedometer even.

Stand firm and get everything fixed right. Don't accept less. Take them to small claims court if necessary and/or call your local media consumer 'action line'. Write letters... Be persistant, escalate up the chain at the dealer and with Honda.

I just went through this with BMW on my wife's 740iL. It took a little over a month, but we are getting everything done right.

Which dealer did you use that screwed up so badly? I'm getting those foglights and don't want the same to happen to me.

There seem to be almost as many complaints about dealers messing up the foglight installation as about windshields cracking... you really wouldn't have thought installation could be that hard or that a dealer would find it difficult to treat their customer's vehicle with respect and care.

On a practical note, with any such damage, it can be very helpful to take pictures - plenty of them - to show the extent of the damage. This is almost always useful if you're going to file a claim in court, but also to help intimidate the dealer into accepting responsibility and rectifying their carelessness.

Don't go to Grand Honda. I went to Fletcher Jones Honda and they did a great job but...... i have other issues with them.

How about this.............If you go to the dealer to have these foglights installed, take the service manager around and explain about what you heard on this forum and have him (with yourself) inspect the front bumper and the gauges and the dash and anything else that you think might be scratched. Have him document that everything is clean and not scratched. Inspect the car thoroughly after the installation.

I had the exact same problem with Regina Honda when they put in my fog lights . The
holes were butchered . I took it back and they were able to round out the holes better
and smooth out the rough spots . The dealer installed options were terrible . My rear
spoiler was botched too . They had drilled right through the hatch and hit the roof with
the drill . I'm still waiting for the right colour paint SOP to come in so they can repaint
the area . I love the vehicle its exactly what I wanted but the service dept is terrible .
I won't tell you how many times I went in and had them change the rear plastic panel.
That's another story . E Purtill

Purtill, tell me about it!

I been going to my dealer 7 out of 8 weeks due to gouges on top of gouges. I also went in to fix the driver side leak and 2 engine lights appearing every 6 weeks. Hopefully by next week, they will fix everything for the last time. They got the service manager over seeing my fixtures.

Purtill, they told you they were waiting on paint? I had to have my SOP's rear door painted after my niece backed into it. I took it in on Mon and it the door had been replaced and painted by Fri. They said they had to make a couple phone calls to get the code- perfect match! If they can do it, your dealer should, too.

Thanks I was wondering if they were just stalling me to do the touch ups . It wouldn't surprise me. I've had better service from GM with my trucks and thats not much to brag about .Time to go down and harrass them again until they get it right . Ed

Tell them to call Nourse bodyshop in Chillicothe, OH. They should have the code because they painted mine.
