Here are a few pics of my 2002 yellow vw bug, my car before my new E. I kinda smushed it a few weeks ago...

It was a great car, kept me really safe. I was going to get another one, but hubby reminded me of the family factor in a year or so. I wanted something that was still different and had personality, thats why I got the E!

Do you mind if I ask how you aquired so much damage to the bug? (glad to hear it kept you safe)

Sorry to hear about the accident, horseygal. You're going to love the Element, if nothing more than the safety factor - especially over the new beetle, which has a pretty low safety rating from what I've read. Like others have said, I'm glad you're ok!

Watch where you're going with that new Element!

the new beetles have the same saftey ratings as the E...5 stars for every thing except side impact and it's considard a "best pick small car"

Oops, my bad! I must've read something incorrectly, but I thought it had been removed from Consumer Report's "Recommended List" because of its poor crash ratings or something... like you said though, same rating as the Element; Consumer Reports also dinged the Element for safety which I disagree with! :(

As far as your Beetle though, you are a living testament to its safety! I didn't mean to knock it, and I stand corrected. :)

Hey Horseygal!

My wife has an '04 New Beetle Convertible called Caliente (http://www.2dolphins.com/caliente.htm)! She's "Surfiena" over on NewBeetle.org (http://www.NewBeetle.org). Had you visited those forums back when you had your NB?

rodaniel - your wife's beetle is super clean...nice =]

I went from there to the carshow and saw this bug:

Those wheels are sweet. And I really like that color green. It's close to GGM, but a bit darker and richer...

Nah, I didn't know there were car owner forums until I started researching the element...I guess I just didn't think about it before...silly me
