I know you will love it!!! I have 4 Hondas a 03' 919 (motorcycle), 04' accord EX, 05' Element EX Auto......and lastly the Honda lawnmower. :-D The Black on black is nice....but hard to keep clean. I don't have a problem with that I wash mine once a week. Remember if this is your first black vehicle you need to use a premium wax. Not just any wax will be sufficient. I mean you can use any wax you want but most of them are not a good choice for many reasons. Want a good wax that is easy to put on and take off and works Good? Use the meguires #26 or #27. Personally I like Liquid Glass but it is $20 per pint. Good luck with your new E

Hey bigred1

I appreciate the photos and the advice on the wax. This is my first black vehicle and I expect to be washing it alot. Can't say that I haven't been warned, but it don't matter. However seeing the pics of your element just confirmed I made the right choice. That is one sweet looking ride.

Good point with the AWD........It's not that much more and its great for the weather.......or the beach in my case  If you live where it is warm all the time it probably doesn't matter. After you get it post a pic :-D

Hi likecoiledsteel,

I am getting the AWD. I also added the sidestep bars, splash guards, and the all season rubber matts. With the amount of snow I get here the AWD drive and the rubber matts will be a definite must. In the mean time my Corolla will have to do :)

Bigred1 mentioned about waxing his Element. Do you wax your element? At the time of purchase i did get the paint protection, rust protection, and the undercoat done. Just wondering if the paint protection means I don't have to wax.

Anyways thanks for posting your Black element. They may get dirty fast, but they sure look sweet when clean.

Thanks
JETT

Jett

The paint protection is just a polymer (simoniz system 5) it's not a wax or doesn't mean you don't have to wax it. It just makes your paint on your vehicle, which is water based now instead of lead based, more resistant to water spots, bird droppings, tree sap....ect...

I chose not to have it done at the dealership. I didn't want them to mess up my baby. I ordered the simoniz system 5 on the internet and did it myself. (30 bucks) instead of the 400.00 the dealer wanted. I'm only 32 so i didn't mind doing it myself. Anyway enjoy your E and if you have any ?'s just ask on the boards or email me.

Bigred1,
(Scott)

Hi Jett,
I live in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I got the AWD drive because I love the sunroof and like having awd just in case i need it someday. The AWD also drove a little better in my opinion. Not a big difference but something I could feel in the ride.

I got my E on Feb. 4, I have not waxed it yet but should in the sun we get down here. I washed it for the first time last week and it was a pain with all the waterspots. But looked real nice afterwards. I think that you will love your E. Good luck and post some pics when you get it.

I am curious to see the sidesteps on a black on black. I havent seen them yet.

likecoiledsteel,

Use the Mr. Clean auto dry system for the waterspots. It has a filter that ionizes the water when you do your final rinse. I can wash my E in 20 minutes or less and with no wiping of water. Believe it or not, it works just like the commercial right in front of your eyes. You have to see it to believe it!
