Taken from a lighthouse... I'm sitting here trying to figure out which one, but I don't quite recognize that bit of coastline.

Neat pic! :)

I'm guessing it is the Point Arena Lighthouse, south of Ft Bragg

California Coastal Records Project - image of Point Arena Lighthouse (http://www1.californiacoastline.org/cgi-bin/image.cgi?image=11906&mode=sequential&flags=9&year=current)

This coastal records project is a photographic reacord of nearly the whole coastline of California. I found this lighthouse by searching about half a dozen of the captioned pictures.

We have a winna'! That was going to be my guess, but since it was by process of elimination (one I hadn't visited) I wasn't sure.

On

off-road - ocean view thread (http://www.elementownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12639)

I posted a photo of a Washington lighthouse taken near the mouth of the Columbia River (last week). The lighthouse was not open, so I don't have any shots from high up. Parking isn't particularly close either. Visibility wasn't perfect, either due to a light fog or sea spray; but in its own way it added to the effect.

I agree, I liked your lighthouse shot very much!

Here's a shot of the lens and two 1000-watt bulbs. This gear is now inactive and under restoration. There's a small, modern light mounted on the outside rail doing the grunt work currently. They hope to light up the real thing, at least ceremonially, in a couple of years.

I'll share another neat one from this trip, taken under the Hwy 1 bridge at Russian Gulch:

My girlfriend is beginning to comment that I take more pictures of the E posing than I do of her! :-D
