Just Finished the install of my DVD player in my E. Next i have to route all the power and what not behind the dash. i cut into the sub enclosure to make and entrance for the mounting bracket i made. nothing fancy just some. plexiglass, alluminum square tubing and some hex bolts. it is adjustable to allow tilt for viewing from the back seat.

PLEASE EXCUSE MY DIRTY CAR! its been raining all week.
here are the pics.

nice! very creative! could you have ran the power suppy cord into the subwoofer to find power instead of using the cigarette socket instead? what size lcd is that?

i probable can run the power from there. the lcd is 7inch. it is a tablet style dvd player. it also plays mpeg4, vcd, and has a tv tuner built in with cable input.it comes with a battery pack as well that attaches at the bottom. this will hold me over till i get my carputer built. then i will swich out the dvd for a touch screen.

Hey Tom,

That is sweet! Is that mount something that came with the player or something separate? Does it swivel?

Thanks.

Very Cool!

And the movie choice is superb -- "Donnie Darko" is an excellent film!!!

Nice!
I'm just wondering if the people in the back seat can see the screen?
I just had my port. dvd in the car this weekend and hooked up the sound to the aux outlet, the kids were watching Star Wars in the back seat...and wow! was it cool! the sound was amazing :-D

Great install!!! Never thought of that.....Having a small child i am looking into installing a dvd. I think i'm going to try a 15 inch monitor behind the front seats. I know it will cut down on my vision through the rear view. But it also cut down on the "are we there yet's" Besides i used to drive a tractor trailer, all i need are the door mirrors :-D

I was thinking of doing the same thing with a tablet DVD player...but I've got an in-dash unit with an overhead monitor.

If you want to make the power adapter practically "invisible" try what I did with my TomTom GO navi power: I used an "Add-a-circuit" on the fuse block and wired it to an aftermarket outlet, and plugged the power adapter for the navi into it...and it all sits behind the fuse block cover panel under the dash.

yeah i hid the power today. i mapped it to the fusebox and ran it all behind the console.

and to answer the question of " can the people in the back seat see it" yes i can tilt the screen for them.
