Pictures, pictures, pictures????

I haven't been to this website in a while. What happened to all the Element pix? When you click on gallery, you expect to see pix of Elements. What gives? You see a hot looking E on the home page and you have no idea how to find its picture. Why doesn't the homepage picture act as a link to the actual picture? Just wondering.

It's not like the person running the site has a life or anything. To complain about this site is ludicrous IMO.

I admit the first time I came here I tried to click on the thumbnail Element images on the right of the home page. I was still shopping for my E at the time and wanted to see all the mods and configurations. I eventually went through every post in the gallery and then some. But I still couldn't find a larger version image of the second Element from the top, with the roof basket and brush guard.

Nevertheless, this site is incredible and has been thoroughly entertaining and useful. Soon I will post my E in the gallery with the mods made known to be by this site and its users.

This site is great, considering the alternative has been down for 2-3 days now... I don't even bother at the other site most of the time.

I don't understand the complaint. When I go to the home page (which I don't do very often), and click on the 'gallery' tab at the top, I get 'Image galley' section of the forums. The first (nonsticky) thread is 'Wmk's EX after her first bath', with a 800x600 image of a freshly washed Element. The 'E of the month' thread has numerous images.

The 'featured elements' column on the home page does lead to anything useful, but that's not a big deal.

I think that is what the comments are about. The "Featured Elements" column. I have to admit, there has been more than a few times when I had seen an image in the column and wished I could get a larger, more detailed picture of the car shown. For example, the one that was mentioned with the basket and brush guard. 2nd down. My screen doesn't show that much detail. Perhaps putting a simple link, under each image, to the post where the image originated would be helpful.

I would agree though that it isn't a huge deal. I still come here to browse all the new images. I am a photo junkie. Now, if only I can get out and take some new pictures of my Element. I got an IM the other day from one contributor who commented on the lack of fresh material. I do tend to post the same photos to new threads, over and over.

My message was based entirely on how THIS site used to be. I bought my Element right when they were introduced. Not many people can say they've had their Element longer than me. My Element was on this site when this site first started. I'm a FANATIC about my Element, but I went and had twin boys with my wife... and for some reason, posting things on a website became a little less important.
But when I came back to the site, I saw an awesome E, wanted to take a closer look and give the owner some props, but....that's cool, the new way is probably better than before. So I'll just get used to the new way and hope I don't offend anyone in the process.

LOL, who said I was offended? I didn't realize people's skin could be so thin. It's a good thing booggerg has not posted or you guys might get really upset :-o

FWIW... I think you guys have made some good comments on both sides. Ideally, you should be able to click on a thumbnail and go see a larger version of that image. I'm going to start doing that.

As for the old gallery, well...what we have now is much better than what we used to. Now, members can upload images of their own and attach them to posts quite easily. I know what you are referring to from the original site design so I can see where it was confusing. Sorry about that, but welcome back to the new site. Coming from another father of two... I know what you have been (and are going) through.

I'm glad everyone digs this site. I'm sorry I don't have more time to get it just the way I/we want it quickly. But you'll be glad to know that I am assembling an EOC staff that is helping to take us all to the next level. Enjoy the ride! ;)
