Here are a couple shots of my E in New Mexico last week. We were at Chaco Canyon Cultural Historic Park. The third shot is before entering, we were at the post office at Nageezi. The first two are after the 22 mile dirt road in at one of the ruins. One is my son and the other is me!
All told we drove 3000 miles from Minnesota to New Mexico. Averaged 25 mpg even loaded down with 4 people, camping gear and the Sidekick on top. Pretty nice road trip vehicle...especially with my iPod and a Polaroid 10 inch DVD.
My daughter kept track of other E's we saw and what colors...I'll post that later.

How bad was the access road? I drove it in 1988, so my memory of the road isn't that good. I have read the washboarding can get pretty bad, and that that mud can be nasty after a rain.

The road wasn't bad. It had some washboarding partway in but nothing the E couldn't stand. I wouldn't want too many miles of it though. I'd been to the park twice before in the summer. This time the weather was pretty ugly. Snow squalls with wind. We had a beautiful calm cloudless night to view the incredible sky though. I spent a couple of hours with my 8X40 Binoculars looking at the "show". Cool.
The ruins are amazing. For those of you that haven't heard of it Google "Chaco Canyon" under images and you can see some neat stuff.
