Hey Mike... Where the hell were you? Everyone else that said they were coming... where were you people? :( We had lots of fun and it was great to meet some new people. Mark/Toni read about the meet after picking up their MM 3 weeks ago... Jeff and Barbie got their E 8 days ago. Welcome to all of you. They both said they are going to look into trying to come to The Big E-vent in July!
Without further ado... here are a few of my pics with a link to the rest at the bottom...

ramblerdan 04-10-2005, 03:46 PM That was some fun. Thanks, Larry, for organizing this outing. It was swell to hang with such nice folks.
Incidentally, my car is in the lineup at Perkins Lookout, third from left, but my buddy and I were hiking down to Doodletown (http://www.daytrips.org/Doodletown/doodletown.html) at the time. It's a nice stretch of trail (part of the Appalachian Trail, which crosses the Hudson at the Bear Mt. bridge), with a variety of terrain. Saw hawks pretty close up and a family of deer. Good views from the summit, plus an interesting glimpse of the bridge on the way down.
Saw a convoy of PT Cruisers on the Thruway en route, one with a PT Cruiser Owners Club (http://www.ptownersclub.com/) sticker. They must have been on a way to a meet of their own. Wotta buncha nerds. ;-)
Sheniferous 04-10-2005, 07:44 PM hehe we beat you guys! we had 12 E's at our so. cal meet! *neener neener neener*

We had sort of 10 E's... if we can count Morgan's. lol If everyone showed that said would show... we could have had almost 17! :(
You win... for now Shen! :) Just wait until we get 75+ E's in Ohio. :) Any chance you can drive or fly out for the event?
cidrivera58 04-10-2005, 11:51 PM Nice photos, guys.
I'm sorrry I couldn't make it & after looking at the fun pics, I regret it...I will definitely make it the next time out.
Take care.
klynch13 04-11-2005, 04:40 PM Larry,
Don't forget that the first meet we had there was over 15 cars if I remember correctly. So nah nah back at you Shen lol. How old are we again? hahaha
Dan,
Diana over at the NEMC ran into those guys a couple of years ago at an outing. I'll have to tell her that you saw them again. They have jackets too believe it or not. Yeah their bigger nerds than us haha.
Lat-o-r!

Hey...that looks like great fun....the Boy Scout Spring Camporee is this weekend....maybe after that I will see if anyone around here wants to give it a go at the Natchez Trace or somewhere.
Hey Dan.....tell me about that tent. I'm sure you have discussed it somewhere before but a picture is worth 1000 words and I LIKE!!!

newlookproperty 04-12-2005, 09:07 PM Hi there, its Mark from the Bear Mt meet. It was great meeting everyone. Thanks for organizing it and posting the pictures. I appreciated the EOC sticker and have it proudly displayed. It was great to get the advice about mats, grills, and other ideas.
It would be awesome if there was a place to meet with some mild offroading that we could do as a group. I have never done anything like that. I realize we are all just big kids and are not driving Hummers, but a little trail somewhere would be fun for us wannabe 4 wheelers.

Mark... it was great meeting both of you as well. I'm sure there is some nice light off-roading in the Bear Mountain or even Lake George areas somewhere... But I am not at all familiar with the areas... maybe Keith or someone else would know better.
ramblerdan 04-12-2005, 10:59 PM Hey Dan.....tell me about that tent. I'm sure you have discussed it somewhere before but a picture is worth 1000 words and I LIKE!!!Sportz SUV/Minivan Tent by Napier. I got mine from Tents on Trucks (http://www.tentsontrucks.com/suvtent.html). It's big--marketed for full-size minivans like Odyssey, Grand Caravan, etc., but fits really well on the E. I really appreciate that 7' inside height. It's easy to set up and break down, though you have to be more meticulous than I was willing to be in order to fit the poles in the carry bag. Oh, and you can unhook the tunnel and drive away--the side of the tent facing the car zips shut. You can even remove the tunnel altogether. It also includes a rain fly (not installed that day).

Yep...that's the one....my next Element Purchase.....if we're gonna do the boy scout thing we may as well do it in style!
