Hello I don't own an Element yet but I am doing research on camping mattresses. It appears most are either to long or to wide. So my thought was to possibly buy some high density foam or memory foam and get it custom cut to fit the Element. I would also possibly make a cover for it.

Generally you should be able to buy this stuff from a local upolstery shop but I have included some links to web sites I found.

Can anyone confirm the dimensions with the gate closed? I have heard 45x65 from back to front beverage holder.

Don't know if it makes much difference to ya, but the seats, when folded down, are actually very comfy for sleeping on...

No clue about matresses though. Good luck!

Yeah we are thinking about having the 2 back seats out while on trips with mountain bikes, etc. That's why I am looking for another solution. If and when I get one I will try the seats though. Thanks
