I noticed a few scuffs on my front panel. It isn't too bad but if there is a way to reduce or remove them, I'd like to know. Any ideas?

I'm just glad it wasn't a painted surface. That would have been harder to fix and definitely more noticeable.

Have you tried Mothers, 303, peanut butter or any of the other usual remedies?

I am not big on the 303 protectant. I waxed my 3 week old Red Element and took extr care not to get the wax on the composite panels. I used the 303 Marine Protectant because I saw it recommended on this site. I looked great when I finished but the first time I got in a little rain, it streaked and overan on the painted surfaces. Any recommendations for the panels other than the 303 which I think is rubbish?

No, no... I'm not trying to get wax off the panels, these are scuffs (ie. scratches); not deep but over about a one inch square area (about the same size as if you scuffed /skinned your knee). I'm wondering if there is a way to buff this out or sand it or apply heat to it or something.

if you dont want it run, take dry rag and wipe off excess after applying product.I use mothers protectant works great. They had a post about panels being pitted,I dont think theres anything you can do w/out messing up the panels further but those panels are cheap to replace.

Joea is right... You have to spend a bit of time to really wipe down the 303 so that it doesn't streak. A little goes a long way with that stuff. I've found that if you've done any more than just enriched th panel color a bit (ie the panels are shiney) then you've used too much 303.

You've got to remember this stuff is made to get wet... it's sold at Marine stores for use on boats!

Have you tried 303 or Back to Black to try and reduce the scuffs? If that didn't work then I'm at a loss for what to try. :?

I have the same problem (got a little too close to one of the wooden kayak racks in my garage). Got a couple of scratches plus a scuff that makes the area a ligher colour than the rest of the panel. I have tried paint thinner (cleaned it up but didn't take the marks off) and Mother's Back to Black (the light coloured marks are still there).

I just talked it over with a local auto body/detailer guy. He suggested that I contact someone who dyes vinyl - in his opinion this may be the only way to get the panel colour back. Anybody else got this advice? I'll report back once I have a chance to get another opinion.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try it. I guess that if it really, really bothers me, I can just get a new panel. :)

Just be aware, you will probably just do it again :)
