: New CK EX in the club
Rec916 04-24-2005, 09:59 PM Finally got most of my exterior additions on: Foose 18 inch Speedsters, Eibach spring kit, fogs, roof rack, and T-Rex billet grill. A lot of people have been dissing the Khaki in various threads (pun?), but after I saw it in person I had to have it.

Phreaxer 04-25-2005, 02:43 PM They have always been black....no?
I thought so too...???
Great color choice! Congratulations!
And to the other person... don't most elements come with black mirrors and handles???
booggerg 04-25-2005, 03:32 PM yeah i guess it does..
SRLNCLT 04-25-2005, 03:39 PM I have a feeling he knows someone at Les Schwab? Am I right? What size rims and tires? Looks great!!! Now I DO like the Khaki.
L.
Rec916 04-25-2005, 04:30 PM Uhhg, I wish I did know someone at Les Schwab. They know ME now. The wheels are 18x7.5 and the tires are 255/50R-18 Proxes. My boss asked me if those are the biggest wheels that couls fit on the car. I said, "No, but I can't afford anything bigger!" The 19s would have been $1000 more. Didn't even price 20s. I'm fine with the 18s, but I couldn't stand the the gap in wheel well when I got those beauties on. Had it back in the same week for Eibach spring kit. I don't think most people will even notice it's lowered unless I tell them, but the important thing is that I notice. Plus, it makes it a couple inches less my pug has to jump to get in the car!
SRLNCLT 04-25-2005, 04:55 PM Yeah, I used to work at Les Schwab here in Boise. It is amazing how much they mark stuff up. I got my tires from them but no way would I buy my rims from them. Even if you know someone that works there they typically won't do jack for you. Which Schwab did you go to? My old next store neighbor is the manager at the Woodland store, he's the one that got me the job at Schwab. When I grow up, I want to get a air compressor so I can do everything myself, except mount and balance.
L.
SRLNCLT 04-25-2005, 04:56 PM How bad did Les Schwab cost for the lowering? and did it include camber kits?
L.
Rec916 04-25-2005, 05:43 PM Kit was $1000 installed and that's including the upper/lower arms and alignment. We have a ton of Les Schwabs out here in Sacramento. Discount Tire was actually hundreds more than LS, plus they don't do lowering.
SRLNCLT 04-25-2005, 05:52 PM To bad we just don't have our own equipment to do it. Then it would be like $400.
L.
Rec916 04-25-2005, 06:06 PM Yeah, I'm a computer guy; not a car guy. I was proud of myself for installing the grill myself. Took front end off and Dremeled out plastic bars. Beyond that I'd probably need help.
Tim Vance 04-25-2005, 09:44 PM The colour contrasts with the grey/black is nice, but it's not khaki. That looks very beige to me.
But I'm not really surprised, even your military gets it wrong. There's a big difference between 'dune' and 'khaki'. True khaki is a shade of green.

That's why the term military intelligence is an oxymoron in its truest form...
jtfirepro 04-25-2005, 10:11 PM Very Nice......

Must be Canandian dictionary thing because according the Websters Dictionary:
Main Entry: kha·ki
Pronunciation: 'ka-kE, 'kä-, Canad often 'kär-
Function: noun
Etymology: Hindi khAkI dust-colored, from khAk dust, from Persian
1 : a light yellowish brown
2 a : a khaki-colored cloth made usually of cotton or wool and used especially for military uniforms b : a garment of this cloth; especially : a military uniform -- usually used in plural
- khaki adjective
Not sure why you think khaki means green.
lwclancers 04-26-2005, 09:55 AM Good call MTP. Webster's does come in handy quite often.
It is also not just called khaki for the E, but CARGO Khaki...as in cargo pants, which often times are a khaki color similar to actual khaki pants.
I expected Khaki to be a brown color. And wasn't expecting it to be such a beautiful shade. Love what youve done to it, wish i had a little money to throw to the e, cuz she deserves it.
Maximo Park 07-11-2005, 03:33 AM Very nice. Congratulations from another Cargo Khaki owner. I'm looking to get the fog lights...is the additional light significant?
