My Element has under 500 miles. I have washed it one time with auto soap. I used the "Wax as u dry" product and when I finished, I noticed a few white spots on the plastic cladding. I have attached a link to a picture that isrepresentative of this. If anyone has any ideas on how to remove the spots, I would sure appreciate it. Thanks!

Too many samples of people using wax as you dry for this to be caused by that product. Looks like left over bird dookie that wasn't clean off  Or splotches of a regular wax.
Regardless of what it is use peanut butter...I am serious.

Well, the Element has not been waxed yet, and it looks like a water spot - don't think a bird got me. So the peanut butter, just spread it on wipe in then off I assume?

Yup. Tub it in. Let it sit for a bit (to let the oils do their magic), then wipe it off. Should be good to go...assuming it is caused by some sort of wax/soap/etc.

Well, I tried the peanut butter and it did nothing. Has anyone else had any discoloration on the plastic that can be seen in my link to the photo? I don't even have 500 miles on the E and this has already happened :(
Any ideas on a fix is appreciated.

Wax-As-U-Dry is nothing more than a mild mixture of wax, just not enough to discolor the panels when wiped off immediately.
If a drop dried on the panel, the result would be similar to what you have there.
Usually just wetting a cloth and giving the spot a good scrubbing would take care of it.
Try a damp cloth with a bit of the W-A-U-D on it and see if that helps.
If that doesn't work and the PB failed I'd try 303 Protectant.
There is a chance that it's a spot of bird dookey that was inadvertently missed by the dealer and sat for days.
An acidic bird poo will eat paint or plastic faster than a fat chick through a bag of cheeto's.
Unfortunately, if it is a poo burn it's not something that can be fixed.
Good luck.

I had the same problem right after I bought my element. I had two white spots, they almost looked like drip marks, right on the black plastic right by my doors on both sides. They showed up right when it started raining. When I washed it, I got a soft tooth brush out and gave it a good scrubbing and it did fade away. I also got underneath the door with q-tips to get any residue from the door that may have been causing it. Since then no more white spots. I think that whatever the dealer put on it, or the plastic they pulled off could maybe have caused it. Go nice and easy with a toothbrush, and then clean the inside of the doors, inside the holes and everything with q-tips. I hope this helps!! :)

There's a product called "GR-40" that you can get from www.topoftheline.com that's specifically designed to remove wax spots from textured plastic trim. I've used it with great success on my Tahoe (haven't gotten wax on the E trim yet). It costs about $9 a bottle, but a single bottle should last years. Use it exactly as directed, and you should have great results.
Peanut butter works some times, but not all of the time - try leaving it on the stain for about 10 minutes, then wiping it off. Depending on the stain, it may need to "soak" the stain for a bit. Otherwise, try the GR-40.
