1stpik 05-09-2005, 10:57 PM I vote that we all meet at the Regal Theatres in the Westfield Mall, El Cajon. It's about 5 miles from my apartment ..... about 130 miles from Irvine.
nippoelement2 05-09-2005, 11:10 PM that sounds cool too.....big caravan for a movie meet....gona be mad traffic getting there friday. i wish san diego and la is closer to each other then would be a lot easier for people on both sides...but next month meet will be down south more. i am thinking like maybe a public rest stop and view spot for all of us to meet on the 5 and then go from there to a beach near san diego. any suggestion let me know...we might need a big empty lot.

I dunno bout the SD traffic that comes w/ that trip on a Friday night...what about a central or southern orange county location? Somewhere in between LA and SD?
1stpik 05-10-2005, 04:03 AM I appreciate your consideration of my proposal, but I was being facetious!! Guess it didn't translate.
This gives me a great idea, though. To solidify support for an EOC meet in San Diego, I should really push for a meet in northern Mexico. Then all the members will suggest someplace a little closer ..... like San Diego!

actually some of us were thinking of going to san diego for a meet. then afterwards going to puerto nuevo for lunch-dinner. Do you want to set that up. I know a hand full of people at the meet were intrested and willing to do it.
nippoelement2 05-10-2005, 09:46 AM good morining boxer
yes huge interest but some in the group might not have their passport in order. that is why i am thinking some where near sd. let me know if you guys know any beach areas between irvine and sd where we can all met up. we should do a cook out.

nippoelement2 05-10-2005, 11:46 AM haha that is not what i was worried about....will maybe if people are up to it...but i like i said not all of us has a us passport and some might have restrictions to go there.
TaILoIN 05-10-2005, 12:03 PM nippo: normally they will not ask you for a passport you can go across the border fine just with you California ID hell i never take my passport with me when i go. I think since we will most likely meet in SD before hand some people could just go there and meet and no necesarily go with us across the border. :-D

You do have to have a passport now. My father in law went fishing down there last weekend and had to have a passport.
I'll find a theatre today hopefully. Any reccomendations on movie time? I was thinking a late night show. Perhaps 11PM or so? That way it would give people enough time to get off work and get there to be in line w/ everybody. I could probably make it down there around 7:30 or so at the earliest being that we'd have to get a babysitter and all...input from other peeps???
TaILoIN 05-10-2005, 12:30 PM Documentary Requirements for Entry To The United States
Travel from within the Western Hemisphere (North, Central or South America)

Are exempt from passport requirements. However, it is highly recommended that a U.S. Citizen be prepared to present documentation such as valid or expired U.S. passport, U.S. birth certificate, or Naturalization certificate to avoid delays.
Exception—travel from Cuba, valid U.S. passport is required.
Important Note: The Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative will soon require all travelers to and from the Americas, the Caribbean, and Bermuda to have a passport or other accepted form of documentation to enter or reenter the United States. The program will be rolled out in phases. The proposed timeline is as follows:
December 31, 2005: Requirement applied to all travel (air/sea) to or from the Caribbean, Bermuda, Central America and South America.
December 31, 2006: Requirement applied to all air and sea travel to or from Mexico and Canada.
December 31, 2007: Requirement extended to all air, sea and land border crossings.

cool....i think 11 will be nice that way everyone can get out of work and get dinner..or do you think we should get dinner in group?? yea let's do that. i just hope 11 is ok for most people in the group.
1stpik 05-10-2005, 12:47 PM Forget the passport, worry about the line of cars waiting to return to the U.S.! The wait often exceeds two hours. Local radio traffic reports here mention border wait times; they're rarely shorter than an hour at San Ysidro (Tijuana).
I'm sure that Mexico has certain charms ..... but restaurants here in the U.S. sell beer and lobster, too. No passport required.
nippoelement2 05-10-2005, 07:34 PM ok i need to make up my mind about which theater please gave me a list of places so i can see which is better.
thanks
BOXER 05-11-2005, 01:08 AM Those of you that dont want to do a puerto nuevo trip DONT HAVE TO GO! You realize the our meets only last from 2 to 3 hours the most. After that anyone could go and do what ever they want. Lets have a meet in san diego and who ever is down for a puerto nuevo trip is more than welcome to come along, who ever doesn't could caravan home. Its very simple.
You could go have beer and lobster here and pay 4 to five times more for the same meal but it would not be as fun. You that have not been there would not understand. I dont mind the hour, hour and a half, to two hour wait to come back. half the fun is buying stuff from the street vendors.
who ever is down for this let me know.
thanks for the clarification of the passport issue. I think most of us are citizens right?
Again those who cant go or dont want to go, dont have to.
BOXER 05-11-2005, 01:13 AM Oh and another thing, its not up to only one person to decide what we do and where we have a meet  . All suggestions should be considered and then should be put to a vote. Make it fair for everyone.
OK im done.
TaILoIN 05-11-2005, 09:49 AM I'm down to go of course......

05BlackOnBlack 05-11-2005, 06:06 PM That sounds good to me, my only concern is getting tickets for the movie...and even if we bought tickets in advance, that still doesnt guarantee us seats...we'd have to be in line WAY early to get seats...I'm down for going if we can figure out the logistics of it all...any ideas!?!?
Sheniferous 05-11-2005, 06:31 PM i won't be able to make this one... i'm in pre-po for a short that starts shooting on the 22nd and there's still a LOT of work to do!
plus... i already filled my once a month element meet quota. any more than 1 meet will push me from "enthusiast" to "nerd"... especially if said 2nd meet is for star wars. lol... j/k
see y'all at the san diego meet!

BOXER 05-13-2005, 01:59 AM Im anti-super autobacs! ill think about it. i live two miles away from there. I think that seven is too early for the people comming from LA on a friday night. Its about 15 minutes for BonB and nippo, two minutes for me but, maybe an hour for the LA and the south bay folks.
nippoelement2 05-13-2005, 10:37 AM i feel the same way boxer but hey there will be other car tuner company there handing out free stuff and sound comptetion too free. i mean you dont have to buy anything there...i know it is mad expensive in super autobucs. also good resterants there...good hawaii bbq shop. .and if any of the la or sd area people want to join us please do. i would love to see more people there. and heck man it is a free event and we can go see star wars after dinner. all i need to know is how many people going so we can reserve tickets. last time the boba shop was giving away free drinks to everyone and i got like free cleaners and t shirts and sun glasses.
