: Rear Window, spray or stream?
angiebanana 04-24-2003, 11:15 PM OK, this might be a stupid question, but ya dont know unless you ask. ;)
Does everyone elses E's rear window cleaner kinda steam down the back window? I guess I was expecting a spray like the front window. Not that it does'nt work the way it is or that it does'nt clean right....I'm just wondering. I've never owned something with a rear wiper that HAD cleaner with it.
Anyhoo...a wee-bit-o feedback would be helpful. Thanks!

voodoo 04-25-2003, 05:48 AM Mine appears to be like yours. A little stream runs down the middle of the rear window.
Works but is it right??
za9ra22 04-25-2003, 07:44 AM Mine's the same and I think that's how it's intended to be. It's difficult to see how you could get a workable spray from a nozzle that's almost flat on the same level as the glass, and do so without the movement of air taking most of the spray away from the window - or at least spreading around so much it would be less effective.
It seems to work pretty well as it is - though mine has a habit of dribbling a bit after it's used.
hambone 04-25-2003, 08:15 AM do you guys/gals have a single stream or two streams ( like a upside down ''v' ) ? i get the two streams....
I USE PRESTONE WASHER FLUID (THE YELLOW STUFF)
MY REAR WINDOW STREAM IS LIKE EVERYONE ELSES.
IT WORKS GREAT! IF ITS GONNA PISS DOWN THE WINDOW
IT MAY AS WELL BE YELLOW.[/b]
medic4lee 04-25-2003, 09:46 AM mine has two streams!!
isketerol 04-25-2003, 10:02 AM Are there any special properties to the Prestone washer fluid, other than looking like pee?
Iskie
artdude102 04-25-2003, 12:51 PM I have 2 streamers that run down- it does teh job though. Somewhere I read that someone's line to the rear window was blocked or clogged and not working.
I don't think I'd like the yellow stream on the window...then people would REALLY stare!
Well here's the info on the (yellow stuff):
1. it doesn't freeze on the glass
2. leave it in all summer too; it's not bad as a bug
remover.
3. if you use summer stuff you may forget to use it up by cold
weather and uh oh frozen washers.
4. it costs more so it must be good
and isn't your Element worth it?
isketerol 04-26-2003, 07:36 AM Oh, ok, I get blue fluid from Costco that is cheap. About 4 bottles for the cost of one at the service station. It's all-weather but works well enough in the summer.
Iskie
For what it is worth, I love the rain-x stuff. If you get their stuff for winter, do leave it in all year long.
When I can't find the rain-x washer fluid, I use the regular stuff, and add rain-x treatment to it.
Ger Brassfield 04-27-2003, 12:13 AM Yes ZA9, mine has a problem of dribbling a little after I use it. Oh WAIT! Are we talking about the same thing here??? Not old age problems?? 8)

angiebanana 04-27-2003, 09:20 PM OK....it's good to know my rearwindow-cleaner-thingamabopper is like everyone elses!
And, for the record, I get a V shaped trickle too.
Thanks for the input! ;)

Cloak 04-28-2003, 10:22 AM My salesperson made a point of warning me that the read window jet was a stream, not a spray.
angiebanana 05-02-2003, 12:23 AM Cloak...I LOVE the Red Green quote!! I'm in Wisconsin, so...hey neighbor! *wavin*
Anyhooters....I wanted to say, I'm shocked and amazed that the dealer went THAT into detail on the rear window spray! Our dealer knew less about the E than us.

stimpn8r 05-02-2003, 09:33 PM I think we get a trickle instead of a spray because the pump is up front under the hood. I'm sure that there's some formula that shows loss of pressure over distance etc..etc.. :)
