I'm buying some 16 X 7.5 rims and want to go with some off-road style tires. Does anyone know how big I can go with the tires? I'd rather not have any rub at all. Thanks for the help

Switching to 7.5 width wheels is not going to help you put larger tires on the Element. A common larger size, 235/70/16 fits fine on 6.5 wheels. A larger, but narrower tire, 225/75/16, may not fit on 7.5 wheels. Check the specs on the tire models that interest you.

What style of wheels are you getting? Open spoke wheels have disadvantages on rough roads (like catching sticks in the large openings).
