: Lovin my new E in south florida, how bout u?
BoxW/Wheels 05-29-2005, 07:55 PM Hello Everyone!
My name is Jessy. I was a big GMC and Ford fan till a month ago. I had a GMC Jimmy and blew the engine. It was on its last leg any way. I had a friend with an Element and thought I might check it out. On my way to test drive an E I went to a Ford dealer. I was surprised how much money a new SUV was going for. My husband and I then went to Honda and boy what a diffrence! I price was way lower and I loved the "new" color. I went home did my research only to find not only was it a good deal it was really safe. Need less to say I bought one. Nothing too fancy. LX in CK. I will add many things to my ride.
I took it up to Orlando from Naples and now it has over 2,000 miles and i have only had it for less than a month. My husband is reading this over my shoulder and teasing me because I drive too much. I swear this thing runs better today than the day I drive it off the lot. I rarely let him drive it. Its my baby my first car. Everyone calls it a box w/ wheels which is where I got my screen name.
I plan on having a sticker mad that says " box w/ wheels" my buddy said he'd want one too. I am loving my new toy!! HOW ABOUT YOU???
I notice that last year there was a meeting of FL E owners. I would love to have one this year. Sound like fun!!!
See Ya!
cidrivera58 05-30-2005, 12:41 AM Enjoy your Box w/ Wheels & by the way, welcome to the site.
Take care.
Cid
babyhippie 05-30-2005, 11:38 AM I'm way over in Daytona, but I see lots of E's here! Last week I saw 7 or 8 in one short trip around town, not including my own. It's fun to drive, isn't it?
likecoiledsteel 05-30-2005, 05:40 PM Welcome Jessy,
Ft. Lauderdale here. I would love to get an FL E owners club going. There are E's everywhere down here. But it doesen't seem that too many are interested. ?

BoxW/Wheels 05-31-2005, 11:49 AM Hey Steel,
Thanks for the post. I am not so sure your right about the lack of interested Element owners.
I think your main problem is a lack of information. My mom has a Dodge Rummble Bee and my father just got a 442. Both have been invited by members of local and national car clubs to join. In one case a guy just walked up to my mom and told her about the club and asked that she check it out. In another case someone left a flyer on my dads' 442 when he went into Publix.
I myself found out about this car club by mistake. I was intrested in being part of an Element only club because my mom is always telling me about her club. I thought well if she can be apart of a car club maybe I can find one too. So few people enjoy the Elements anti-car/truck/suv look that I felt as if I was an odd man out.
I think that we should use the same tactics other car clubs are using. It can't hurt. I think we need a flyer for the fl e owner to carry in their Es' so we can grow are little band of merry men.
I would also like to meet at Old Town in Kissimmee. HTTP.//WWW OLD-TOWN.COM/ They are known for there food, rides, great feel, and their openess to car clubs.
tell me what you think

likecoiledsteel 05-31-2005, 12:04 PM Hi Box,
I agree that we can join up together. I was thinking about getting some EOC business cards and keep them in my E for when I see others. I also have a Corvette and was in a club back in NY. It was a lot of fun. We did high speed caravans in the fall. Crazy stuff.
What year 442 does your dad have? Awesome car. I have never been to Kissimmee, where in FL is it near?
I think that it may be difficult to get E people together because of all the different age groups within the E. Some have kids and would like to do kid-related activities. Some of the younger members may be more into ricing. I guess it depends on what interests each owner.
I do not have kids yet, getting married this year.

BoxW/Wheels 06-01-2005, 04:06 PM Steel,
Kissimmee/St Cloud is just south of Orlando. It is not so far from Orlando which gives everyone the chance to go that way. Old Town is geared toward all age groups. They bill them selfs as a family enviroment.
My family started taking me when I was in elementry school. I am now 24 years old and still love the place. Matter of fact its part of the draw for me to move back to central florida.
I strongly suggest you visit their web site:
www.OLD-TOWN.COM/ (http://www.old-town.com/)
I also think its is a key area because it should be no more than 3 1/2 hours for any one. It takes my husband about that when we drive up there. Of course it takes me abit longer. You might want to yahoo map it so you can see where it is or use a road map.
I like the bussiness card idea but what would they look like? I would think that everyones should look the same. And would there be a problem getting permisson to use the element club logo? I know some groups are restricted on what they can use their logos for.
By the way congats on the almost married thing. My husband and I have been together five years. Three of them married. He is myself. We learned early on that it was us aginst "them". We are a team. Most couples my best friend included never really get to that point. Let me give you some unasked for advice. I ve found it all boils down to having someone who will put up with your BS and that your willing to do the same with. Oh, and find a hobby togethersomething you'll both like.
My mom just called back she said dads' 442 is a 1970. I normaly would have known but he just got it two weeks ago, and hes' gone all over the US looking for one in the past few months. I still can't get over this one its GOLD inside and out w/ back racing stripes. It needs a good bit of work but its' more of a project than anything.
Have a good evening.

likecoiledsteel 06-01-2005, 06:54 PM Hi Box,
Thanks for the post. Kissimmee may be a nice middle place for a meet. A lot of places have been picked in FL but I am not sure if a meet took place.
Myself and others have mentioned the bus. card thing before, but I am not sure the status. I think a card would work well for people in a certain area. Like a smaller city club rather than a state club beacuse it will be easier to get togther.
Thanks for the marriage advice. We have been together for almost 5 years now. I am 31. We wanted to be pretty secure financially before we got too serious. S. FL is very expensive. We were also finishing college when we met. We are buying a house this month. Gettin there.
Your dad has a cool car. I take it that he wanted one for a long time. Good for him. I love muscle cars. The 442 is less common and I think is really nice. When my alterego gets going and the E wont do. I hop in the Vette and burn rubber lol. Then I look at the price of gas and quietly get back in my E.
Best Regards,
Jeremy

If you guys plan to meet please let me know. I will be heading down the road in two weeks for Disney va. I will be there for 3 wks so it gives me plenty of time to hook up with my fellow E'rs. Tried repeatly to get info on the meet in Tampa (Re: Post by FlaEgurl), but every time I go into her website I get zip. Anyone out there with any info on the Tampa meet please drop me a line. If you get a date and time for the Kiss meet and its around the time I will be down there, by all means let me know. Thanks...

vwgary 07-19-2006, 03:35 PM Naples chiming in. There are a ton of E's tooling about tho with only one other I've seen running something "other than stock" wheels. Any of you on the boards?
We've sold both our houses here and will be moving to Aiken SC by September. So, all you Savannah, Augusta, Hilton Head folks we should plan a fall cruise. Maybe end up at our place for some BBQ?
iceman69 06-14-2007, 07:04 PM I am loving my new E 07 for the past few weeks since buying. Since I also love to mountain bike ride, ease of transportation makes it all the better for me. Big thumbs up!
dparrothead1 06-15-2007, 09:46 AM I've had mine for over 3 years now and still love it!!!!!!
abigtroutt 06-16-2007, 06:18 AM Ft Myers here!!! And congrats on the new E. I just purchased mine several weeks ago also and love it!!!

deanpa 03-02-2008, 10:18 AM Just bought my first E after wanting one for years. Live in West Palm Beach. What is going on with a south florida EOC ?
Dean.
JoJo's Kido 04-23-2008, 10:30 PM Howdy,
Im living in S. FL right now, but originally from TX.
I see Es all over but never see any EOC member stickers! I work in Fort Lauderdale so if you ever see a TX plate its prolly me!
deanpa 04-24-2008, 04:18 AM Welcome to Florida.
See E's all over West Palm as well without EOC stickers.
Sending for my sticker today.
Dean.
T'S TSTRWGN 04-24-2008, 07:36 AM Yep, love mine too. Bought it in November. Got rid of a gas guzzling Titan for better gas milage. I've always been a truck guy, but I think my E is my favorite vehicle ever!:D
Orange Toaster 04-25-2008, 11:03 PM Just picked up my first E today April 25....A 2005 Orange EX 2wd AT. I love it already! I am in Miami. Are there any groups of E owners that get together in South Florida? I do have a few questions and I already have a solution or two...but I not know how to start a new post yet. Jerry at SouthCoast Accessories turned me on to the EOC. I will be ordering his carpets this weekend. Thanks Jerry! Sandy L., Miami, FL
sixstring 04-30-2008, 11:24 AM I just got back from Suart. Must have honked or waved 40+ times to E's on the road. So if you remember the guy hanging out of this E at an intersection, it was just me. :D
JoJo's Kido 04-30-2008, 07:30 PM haha. I wave and honk at people all the time, and so does my mom (she has a 03 SOP). So as a 2E family we expect others to acknowledge and wave back, but they just think we are idiots and have no idea whats going on
sixstring 05-01-2008, 05:41 PM Some people don't know how to have any fun. It's my mission to show them.
Jet109 05-01-2008, 07:18 PM I am very jealous!!!! I LOVE Florida :D If I could afford to live there, I would :-|
AND I would wave and honk and flash my lights and everything else. :D:D:D:D
siligoose3 05-02-2008, 10:12 PM I live in Ft. Lauderdale and I love my Element! Not to many people here seem to care about theirs though. I'm all for starting a little travel club to hit up our many parks.
JoJo's Kido 05-02-2008, 10:19 PM O COULD WE PLEASE! Im only gonna be here for about a month longer, and it would be ashame if I didnt get to take me E out for a day in FL!!
We really need to set a day out at the beach!!
Beavis17 05-30-2008, 11:10 PM Just wanted to chime in as a SoFla E owner. I've been waving to other E's on the road without much response. Never thought of adding the honk...guess I'll have to try that!
Evans Black SC 06-06-2008, 12:17 AM In in Palm Beach and drive the Black SC with the D3 and the Alpine flipdown screen in the back. If you see me Honk.
deanpa 06-13-2008, 08:33 AM Will Honk.
Just applied decals to mine. Will post pictures soon. You can't miss it.
deanpa 06-13-2008, 09:02 AM Decals on board. Next, LED lights :)
