: How To Beef-Up Your E?
dstranathan 04-27-2003, 07:22 PM Here are my ideas to help make the E more rugged-looking:
1) Parts that exist from Honda:
Steps
Rack
Hitch
Rear spoiler
Nose mask
2) Parts I PRAY will be made soon for the E:
Front grill guard (Like a Range Rover, Hummer, etc)
Beefy roof rack (like the Nissan XTerra)
Tail light guards "cages" (like Range Rovers, Hummers, etc)
3) Misc. parts to consider:
Bigger tires/wheels
Lift kit?
angiebanana 04-27-2003, 09:25 PM 4) Win the lottery, rob a bank or make sure a well-to-do relative dies suddenly (note-make sure you are IN the will).
*lol* Sorry....I had to. :P

hunterbase 04-27-2003, 10:23 PM Do a lot of you guys want to "beef up" your Elements? I never thought it was a butch car. Sure, it's boxy. but even with the all-wheel-drive, there is no low range, and look at the gas tank, you can see it!!
And at the base of it all, isn't it just a Civic platform, via the CRV?
Me personally, I bought the 5-speed 2-wheel-drive. I would like to lower it soon....
angiebanana 04-27-2003, 10:45 PM No, honestly, I've never thought about "beefing" up my E. It's pretty funky looking as it is. I'd like to add some accessories just to make it look nice or add a lil funtionality to it. Note....they DO advise against offroading in the E right in the manual anyway....why add muddin' tires if you cant really use them? *lol*
Angie :D
disciple 04-28-2003, 10:11 AM Of course Honda is going to advise not to take the E offroad. It says the same thing in the jeep manual and there are alot of jeeps offroad. I think a lift kit with some mud tires would look great on the E.
hunterbase 04-28-2003, 08:48 PM a lift kit and mud tires would look different, I'd like to see it done. However, before you take it anywhere, you might want to weld up a full underbody skid plate.
oh, and get a torquey motor.
i guess i bought the car for the interior, there is just nothing like it. And the car looks cool. but, man, do i hate the inevitable comparisons to the H2.
disciple 04-28-2003, 11:06 PM OH I agree I love the inside of my E. That is one of the main things that got my attention. I just want my E to LOOK tough
burnt-O 04-29-2003, 12:26 PM I guess it's just a thing of mine, but I like to spruce up my cars. I have the vent visors and bug sheild, now I am ordering some chrome wheels. Can't wait! 8)
boneheadz 04-29-2003, 12:36 PM I Like the idea of a beefy roof rack.
Anyone know how to photoshop this on to an element?

jmalik92 05-01-2003, 10:47 PM dstranathan,
You mentioned the nose mask. I have one and it really adds to the looks of the front.
Simon 05-02-2003, 03:24 AM I don't like the look of the Element lowered. Bigger tires and manly accessories are the way to go IMHO.

I agree. I have one now, also. I like it. Do I need to wipe under it after it rains EVERYTIME? Seems hard to keep clean. I wonder if it's too much effort. Opinion? Its a rainy season here in KC right now...
Sons of Liberty 05-02-2003, 08:22 AM I'd like to see a rear tailgate mount that will take a spare tire and jerry can. Now that will look rugged!

I try to remove my nose mask even before it rains so it doesn't get soaked. Removal and installation is really quick and easy since I do not put on the side covers. I just use the hood section and only when I go on long trips. 8)
boneheadz 05-02-2003, 11:12 AM Another idea is to get some of the cling film that they put on the car when shipped. This will prevent the fine scratches from dust
hunterbase 05-02-2003, 08:52 PM I love the idea of a lowered Element. I considered holding out for a Scion, until I learned how small it is. And I am not patient enough to wait for the Scion. The square one was the one that interested me. xA, bB, whatever the hell it's called.
And I can't say enough how much I love the interior of my car. Just perfect for me right now.
boneheadz 05-02-2003, 08:58 PM For beef, add the grill bar like the one above, with lighting kit, a safari rack with full size spare, a hitch mount bike rack with a tray in front for jerry cans,
Its a start but would cost a couple of grand
dinggos 05-31-2003, 01:07 AM supercharger kit, is coming look for it at the SEMA show in vegas
4rachnid 05-31-2003, 01:36 AM dstranathan, where you live in KC? I live in Olathe, it'd be fun to organize an E meet. Thank goodness the rain & tornados are gone and the sun's here. :)

Ger Brassfield 06-05-2003, 09:22 PM Dstra, you'll like this: I made a grill guard that looks like a push bumper to push race cars. The bottom is a 3 inch aluminum pipe. it has 2 in wide flat bar stock just at the front nerf bar line on either side, a 2 inch alum. pipe just under the hood line and an aluminum angle part in the middle going from left to right to mount future aftermarket lights. It has been powder coated black and all I am waiting on are the brackets to be welded together and then I can mount them in the existing holes behind the central bumper fascia, on the hefty metal bumper that one cannot see.
Picture will follow real soon.
Shaka!
