LmentalMastiffs 06-08-2005, 03:57 PM Okay.. Who are the 4, so besides me.. that's 3 going to this thing in July??? Empire I knew you'd be going? Who else?? Anyone interested in caravanning, not that that is my favorite thing to do?? Just curious..
Leaving Thursday afternoon around 3 from Haymarket here..
Kerri
lwclancers 06-08-2005, 04:01 PM I know Snarff is one of the other ones. So thats leaves 1 more from VA.....
Compan-E Car 06-09-2005, 08:38 AM I'm going too but i dont think i sent a reply to Meetup..my bad guys .let me know if u all are still interested in the caravaning ..lol that might be a fun idea . My work finaly gave me some days off to go to a meet ..WOW
Snarf77 06-09-2005, 09:05 AM I'm down for the caravan. That would be cool. As long as people can do 65 on the highway (don't want to be driving ALL day). Do you think we should go as late as 3? I mean, by mahself, I'd be leaving around noon to miss the traffic.

ROFLOL!!!! You're kidding me, right!?? My E doesn't understand 65mph. Anything below 85 and she sputters the whole way!! :-D j/k
Okay.. The caravanning sounds like an idea.. So.. My plans are to leave my area; Haymarket, VA (I66 & Rt15) at 3pm. I have not planned out my trip yet, but working on it.
So... lets make this happen.. Oh wow!! is this going to be fun!!!!!!!

Hey, I totally agree. I know first aid, you'll be fine!
gazoo 06-10-2005, 02:46 PM I was gonna go until I tried to take that day off of work. No chance I can get any days off that week due to training.
Oh well...next year.

Snarf77 06-20-2005, 01:35 PM Did we come to any agreement on who is caravanning, what time we're leaving, and or/ where/how we'll pick each other up? Umm, i'm bringing those littel 3 mile walkie talkies. I could let someone have the 2nd if they don't have one so our caravan stays tight!
I'm thinking 1 ish on Thursday is the best time to go to miss traffic and still get there in the daylight to check in and chill out. Plus now that there is a suprise gift thing waiting at the hotel, I'll be damned if I don't dedicate some time to play with tthat thingymabobber.
:)

1ish is good with us on Thursday, but from where? Or where to pick each other up? We also have a set of 2-way radios to share. ;-)
We are out in Haymarket, VA, off I66/I15. There is a Sheetz there at that Exit. We can meet there? Or if there are other ideas? I'm game for anything...
E on!!

I"m leaving from Vienna where I will pick up the Pamelanator.
Well, I'm not sure how you plan to head to Columbus, but my route takes me north on I 270 off of 495. Heading West on 66 is sort of the opposite direction. Not to be a downer, but I want the caravan to have more than we 2 peoples in it! I think we should shoot for a total of 4 in the caravan or just meet up there later on that night at the hotel.
Shoot, if we got 4 Nova peeps together, we could all have radios even if the next two folks don't have them!
LmentalMastiffs 06-23-2005, 09:26 AM Meeting in somewhere the junction of 495 and 66 maybe? or even in Tyson's Corner?
The other half may not be able to take the day off now due to work constraints. So, we may be out of the caravan all togethr. *shrugs shoulders*
So.. keep me posted..
Kerri
Snarf77 06-23-2005, 10:09 AM Pan Am shopping center is right off of the last exit on 66 (Nutley Street towards fairfax). It might be the best place to meet were we to do so. There is food, drink, Drugstore, etc there and it is 200 yards from 66 East and that exit is less than 1 mile from 495.
Hopefully we can get a caravan going and or someone else will come from the area with us. Otherwise, perhaps we'll just scoot separately.
lwclancers 06-23-2005, 12:37 PM Snarff...if you do go out 66, continue on 66W to 81N to Hagerstown...from there you can hit 70W.
From there you have multiple ways to go to OH. I went this way and then hit 79N in Morgantown to go to Pittsburgh in the fall.
Snarf77 06-23-2005, 12:43 PM Interesting. Both Mapquest and my Navigation Program show the shortest route from my location as being 270 Spur North to 70 West. Shouldn't be too much traffic at 1pm. Taking 66 out from Burke just seems like a longer route?

Mileage wise yes longer, but 270N sucks bad starting around 1-2PM. My guess is it will be an easier trip going west.
I chose this direction rather than the PA turnpike because 1) that road sucks 2) it was an unpleasent trip.
This route took me a little longer and a few more miles, but it was VERY pleasent and great scenery.
lifeizgood 01-23-2006, 05:28 PM This is a post so I can keep up with future posts. Hoping to go!
Empire 01-23-2006, 06:12 PM Well, um.......this was for last years National Meet.

were you saying that just to add to your post count? lol :)
Gear Jammer 01-31-2006, 04:55 PM Well the Jammeress (or is she the JammerLESS now that she drives an AT?) & I are planning to go. We'll leave from Annapolis, MD or Lancaster, VA (near Kilmarnock--Northern Neck).
It's a bit too early to fully commit, but we're leaning heavily towards St. Louis. We will probably set cruise control & stop for fuel & stop for fuel & stop for fuel... HEY HONDA, we want a larger fuel tank!
The FRS is set for 5/7 and may have new batteries before July.
Look for us on the road. Happy couple in their (her, probably) Element.
All best wishes,
G.J.
Tim Vance 02-01-2006, 09:05 AM um Jammer? did you read the post, just 3 above yours???
This thread is last year's meet buddy....
Tom, is there any way to date code posts, other than just to say what the date is? Something along the lines of "The post you are about to reply to is over 8 months old."
z(+)diac 03-09-2006, 05:54 PM I'm still debating about going. I'm not sure I can drive that far without falling asleep at the wheel (bad habit).
