I am gonna pop in 2 polls One on Guys, One on Gals...

Just so we can get a quick and constantly running talley of how much we are blowing away the age demographic.. and also gal/ guy thing, since it was the college guys they were after!

Ok lets roll!

(and reason I only went up to "over 61", only 10 poll options are permitted).

I suspect the 20-somethings with money are buying BMWs, and those without are not buying 20mpg, $20,000 cars. Rather than a stripped-down EX they're buying Kias and other cheapies.

I see the Element as an excellent outdoorsman's/woman's car- which is why this 48-something is buying his. Good for hauling gear to gigs, too. Families like something you can mop baby drool and toddler spills out of. Great as a second car for runs to the garden center, too.

I finally have the car of my dreams. It takes my mountain bike in any muddy or wet condition; let's me sleep in comfort wihtout having to waste time pitching a tent in the rain; hauls my drumset and percussion gear, with a PA system thrown in for good measure; holds wet packs and raingear after a weekend backpack; and I can leave it at a trailhead without worrying about it being stolen.

Very cool, even for someone reaching 50 and still ready to play.

At 37, it seems that I am an average Element buyer. I work at a Honda dealership. We have only sold one to a person under 30 years old. After I drove an Element, I had to wait two months until my orange one came in. I had a lady at a gas station yesterday ask me "what in the heck is that thing?".

...the 20 somethings can see the practical side of the element as well as the older( not trying to sound rude) crowd. I am a full time college student and I traded in a full sized luxury pickup truck for my E. Its nice to be able to just kick back in your car and not have to worry about the leather seats or getting this or that dirty.

Heheheh...am i too young for the demographic?? I am 18 in november but paid 13k of the car myself, and my parents filled in the rest. I have been working since I was 10 and have saved every penny (except maybe for a N64 back in 6th grade or so). I had a VW GTI however it was a lemon. And now, I get the check from VW on Tuesday where I am goin straight to the wonderful honda dealer in ventura where they are holding my Black E EX with aftermarket custom 18 inch aluminum kickin' wheels. So ya, I am of the younger generation Y...woo hoo!

57 here with my wife at 55, I don't think she'll ride in the E, but that's ok... Pick up my Eternal Blue Pearl tonight. 2WD, 5 spd - Wahoo!

It has been a long time since I've been excited by a car, for some reason this boxy thing does it! Go figure! My kids (26, 25 & 19) all think it is a big zero - shows what they know!

51 here! I guess you could say I met Honda's market group - twice!

My wife owns 2 other Hondas. A 1984 Civic 4 door (bought new in September 1984) and a 2000 Civic 4-door LX. She won't part with the '84 as she says it's worth more to her than the salesman offered for a trade (they offered $300 and she said she had more than that in the tires!) :x She still uses it on the weekends (go ahead, hit it with a shopping cart - see if I care!)

I couldn't believe she would like the looks of the E, but as the old song goes; "Just one look, that's all it took!" Sold! Was told I'd be put on the list but would have to wait until the end of May to get my SOP EX 4WD. Obviously, the saleswoman was not familiar with us old Baby Boomers (patience, hell! I'm gonna kill something!). Made my deposit on March 24th and drove in home on April 7th! :D Interesting story behind this, but that will have to wait for another time! :D

Happy Motoring, all you E Lovers!

looking at the stats of the gals and guys ages here, and the gals are late twenties to early thirties by a large margin..

Guys seem rather steady between twenties to early forties.. very gradual progression peaking at the early thirties! then gradually going down.. but much more gradual of a decrease.. you guys kinda stay close to your interests eh??

I am a little over the target market age at 46 will be 47 next month. I had a Dodge Dakota with 107,000 miles that I traded when I purchased my Element. I was drawn to it because mainly of it's price point and the idea I could use this vehicle for camping and hauling my dogs (two rather large mongrels) around (they love going for rides but will totally funk up a vehicle i.e. drool, nose print the windows...etc which is really rough on a "plushish" vehicle) withouit scuzzing the vehicle to badly. With a cleanup it stands out nicely in parking lot at a nice resturant (eating out my wife's and myself's favorite go to town thing to do). The unit I purchased was an EX 4WD, Shoreline Mist with mud guards, roof rack, side steps, rear spoiler, and fog lights. I have put about 650 miles on it since I purchased it July 2, and though limited in use so far I would have to congratulate Honda on a vehicle well thought out in form and function. I plan to take it to Florida in August for a beach, camp, scuba trip type vacation thing. So far I am satisfied and really looking forward to making a road trip in it.

I'll be 49 in September. I traded in my '99 Miata for the Element which should be here at the end of the week. I know it won't be as much fun to drive as the Miata but, living in the mountains, I can drive the E all year long ;)

At 71, I sure don't meet the demographics set by Honda. I purchased my SMM Element to replace a Nissan Pickup. I am not sure the Gen Y folks appreciate the utility aspects of our little Ellie. I have had it since July 26 and have 2000 miles on it. So far, no problems except for the rubber neckers. Maybe I'm into my second childhood.

Well I guess that makes me the second oldest E owner behind Mr. Mac. I am 69 my wife 68. Our E replaces a Subaru Outback wagon. We use the E to haul our bikes to cycling events. I'm married to the Florida 5 k.state champion . She represented tha state of Florida at the Senior Olympics last year in Virginia finishing seventh. We can load our bikes inside the E assembled & standing. I don't know of another car/truck that affords this convience other than a mini van. And we wouldn't want to use a mini Van & look our age. :P When we arrive at these events the E leaves us ready to ROCK 8) We wouldn't want to disappoint Mr. Honda but we have 5 grown sons & 9 grandchildren.

Don't let the grey bother you. I started greying when I was 12 (6th grade) By 25 I was total grey. Let the women worry about coloring their hair. Enjoy your life regardless of hair color or quantity.

50 & what hair is left is grey. Just watch out of top of head sunburns, they hurt!

I'm almost 38 and don't worry much about grey hair. That's because I have very little hair left. I cut what I do have very short (not quite a Capt. Picard buzz, but close). It's great--I haven't combed my hair in 2 years! But BG Locks is correct -- top of the head sunburns are the worst. I learned the hard way. Now I never go out in the sun without a hat. I even wear a baseball cap in the pool.

But the best thing about being bald....well, my wife said that's what attracted her to me!
