Ink (?) on floor

I loaded up the brand new E a few weeks ago for a trip down to the coast with some friends. Now, I see a spot on the floor that looks like it has ballpoint pen ink or something similar on it. There are several small spots around the floor. I have no idea how it could have happened other than it must have been tracked in on someone's shoe or in the bottom of a bag that must have leaked. Any ideas on how to get it off without damaging the floor or floor coatings? My first thought would be to try something like Soft Scrub, but I'm afraid it may be too harsh. Any ideas?

Don't use an abrasive; that's almost guaranteed to scuff the floor's urethane coating. I'd be more inclined to explore (i) solvents that will dissolve the ink (without hurting the floor) so that you can just wipe it up with a paper towel, or (ii) oxidizing cleaners that will essentially bleach the color out of the ink.

Use a Mr Clean bar ..... Perfect for this spill ....
