Though it is not mandatory to check in for the national meet at the hotel, we STRONGLY encourage you to do so. We will list check-in times closer to the dates of the event.

Why? Because we have a gift bag and your event t-shirt for every EOC member who is registered for the meet and we'd prefer that you get that when you check in. Also, you'll get a lanyard and badge that will help to identify you to other members.
(Your guests can get a lanyard and badge as well.)

So, whether you are staying the hotel or not, please consider swinging by during the open registration times to get your goodies and help us to wrap up the registration so we don't have to haul everything around to every location. Thank you.

We also will have a raffle ticket to give out to each registered member so you have to come to registration either thursday night or friday morning to get everything.

Good point, Larry. There are many reasons for you to at least stop by the hotel and register to pick up your things, even if you do not plan to actually stay overnight at the hotel. Please make plans in advance!

Thanks!

There will be a chance to register Friday morning at the hotel?

Approx time?

Yep. Check the national meet site for details. Most likely anywhere from 8am-9am. JuliE and I are leaving a bit earlier than most of the pack to get to Honda early (by their request). So, if you can get to the hotel early - please do. We also have open registration on Thursday evening. I'll post more details soon.

I knew it! There is no such person as JuliE... Tom is a cross-dresser and JuliE is his "girl" personality when he is dressed up. lol :)

This is a check-in ONLY... if you have not already registered for the event then you can't register then. The 2 check-ins are for those that are already registered so they can pick up their registration packets, badges, raffle ticket, t-shirts, etc.

My error, wrong wording. I am registered, just concerned with check in.

I plan to stay Thursday night in Dublin at my daughter's house, need CHECK IN time on Friday AM. Thanks

Don't worry about it. I was too lazy to go look and see if you were already registered. lol

It's good to get it out there that there is no onsite registration... just check-in for those already registered.

Just made reservations for Thursday night, but since I'm driving from NW Indiana after work we probably won't get to the hotel until after 11pm.

Any breakfast plans Friday morning? I haven't checked, but does the hotel serve a decent continental breakfast, or should we all plan on making our own breakfast plans?

If I remember breakfast of some sort comes with the hotel rooms. Don't recall what it is, could just be muffins, bagels, coffee and juice.

I will arrive on Friday morning. It is about a 60 mile drive to the Hotel for me. What time should I be there to check in and what time will everyone depart to Honda?

T Mac
07-08-2005, 05:55 PM
I'd prefer that everyone be at the hotel around 8:30-9 am. JuliE and I are leaving for Honda earlier than the rest of the group and I'd like to do check-ins and get that done as soon as possible. So, better earlier rather than later...worst case scenario is you have to kill time (waiting to leave for Honda) by hanging out with some of the coolest people in the world - your fellow E owners.

**KEEP THIS IN MIND**
When you check-in with us, not only are you doing us a favor by telling us you have arrived, but also you will receive your event t-shirt, your ID badges and lanyards, your free gift from Honda and your raffle ticket for the big giveaway on Saturday at Hocking Hills. (We have a TON of great prizes to give away on Saturday). I hope this is reason enough for everyone to understand the importance in registering. We truly thank you and ask for your patience as we'll be scrambling around to make this event go well.

NOTE: You can come as early as you want. JuliE and I should be downstairs by 8am or earlier that morning so we can help everyone out.

PASS IT ON! ;)

I vote that you all take up a pool and fly my butt there!

BUT how does one go about getting one or two lanyards though?

Surely you left out the decimal point.

I don't think anyone will pay more than $45 for them.

No, I didn't leave out a decimal point at all. Tessa asked what it would cost for her to purchase 2 badges... I came up with a price equivalent to a round trip airline ticket for her to come to the event. :-) lol

Actually the badges are not for sale. Whatever aren't used this year will be used next year for the next E-vent.

you tell me where to get a roundtrip ticket for $450 and i'll be at the meet.

The LEAST I can find is $570.

I don't have a clue... Tessa said she found one for $900 round trip. I don't even know where you guys are coming from other than CA.

I thought you can't make it?

technically i could... i have a meeting late in the afternoon on thursday, meaning i could catch the red-eye out to columbus and get there by 6am or so on friday morning... but then i have jury duty on monday morning which shouldn't be a problem since the national meet is over by sunday anyway.

while we're on this subject... if i were able to go... would any of our members be willing to pick me up from the columbus airport at 6am??

spdrcr5
07-10-2005, 01:14 AM
I think the hotel offers a shuttle service from the airport since they are 5 minutes away...

Call the hotel and ask them about the shuttle. If they don't have it I am sure someone would pick you up... possibly even me.

Heading to sleep now... 2:15am here.

Not sure about 6AM, but I will be driving in early that morning from Dublin, NW side of Columbus. If the shuttle thing doesn't work, I can swing through the airport and pick you up. My co-pilot fell thru so there should be plenty of room in my E.

Shen: The AmeriHost is close to the airport, so I have to believe someone could help out. I think at least 50 E's are registered there! If you don't get a firm offer in the next 24 hours, I'd still take the plunge if you're in the mood. One of the shuttles, or even a taxi (since the trip is a short one) should get you to the hotel in plenty of time to hitch a ride to the factory. I realize it's a chunk of change out of your own pocket, but we'd sure like to see you make it.

Actually the $900 is for two people. The price was about $450 per person and add tax, 911 fees etc... its going to be over $1K to fly for two. Let me see how much it would be for only one though and fron LA... I was figuring us leaving from San Fran/San Jose/Oakland airports.

I have been talking with Shen about flying out but the rooms at the hotel are all booked. If someone would like to give up their reservations then we might be willing to do it but I am not flying/driving that far and not staying with the group.

I have a room with 2 double beds, and only need one of them. If someone wants the other bed, and someone wants the floor, I'm okay with that.

As long as you pass a criminal background check of course.......
