After reading the posts on this site and doing some online research I finally settled on a teardrop trailer for use while camping. Knowing I needed to keep the weight down because of the limited towing capacity and since most pop up tent trailers alone push the limits, the teardrop really seemed to make sense. They are not for everybody but I love mine.
I attached 2 photos, one is an interesting photo of my Element and my teardrop at a rest area in Holmes County, Ohio being passed by an amish horse and buggy. The other is while being used camping at AW Marion State park in Ohio.
For those interested I purchased my trailer from East Coast Teardrop in Laconia NH. Drove up and picked it up. Check out their website. It is well built and very easy to tow. Anyone interested feel free to contact me.

That is very cool!!! Look forward to hearing more on how you like it. I have spent hours looking at those teardrops on the Internet. The larger t@b trailer really has my attention but I'm in the city with no place to keep it. Then I find myself looking at the Airstream Bambi....
So this arrived by UPS today: the full-size SUV-minivan tent. Will try it out over the 4th of July.

The 16' Bambi weighs 2,800# ++. Way beyond the capabilities of the Element.
Unfortunately.

Those are all really cool trailers. They go along with the design styling of the Element! (I am talking about all of them)

I pull a small 6' X 10' landscaping trailer with no problems at all. I'm happy. But i am considering one of these small trailers to carry cargo during trips or camp outings. I think someone makes a composite trailer that is really light weight?? I know i read it on a thread here on the EOC but can't find it at the moment :x

My particular trailer is a teardrop trailer hand built to plans that have been in use since the 30's. There are a few people building them for sale. Do a google search for teardrops and u'll see what I mean. I chose East Coast because of his location and the innovative fold up rear galley area. See it on his website.
I like the T@B trailer too but too heavy. My trailer tops out at about 800# empty which makes it very easy to manuever by hand which is good cause I still suck at backing it up.
I live in Ohio but picked it up and towed it back from New Hampshire. Tows like a dream. Roger at East Coast builds his a bit heavier than most. He uses 3/4" plywood rather then 5/8" and he use 14" Wheels mated to a 2000# Torflex axle on a custom welded trailer. Many guys make them with 12" wheels and spring suspensions. In my mind not as desirable.
It is not a camper per se but more a tent replacement. For that reason I say many folks might not like the accomodations. I personally feel it is perfect for my lifestyle n my dogs likes it too. I even sleep in it when taking road trips. I'll stop at a truckstop fuel up and jump in the trailer to grab shut eye.

Very cool. I would like to see some pics, inside and out, if you get the chance.
I am torn between the cabana and one of these. I just don't think I can count
on being able to park in the grass every timeI go camping.
(Sorry, I don't mean to hijack the thread.)
