After washing and using the new Z-8 spray on my E (superb, no more Z-6 for me), I went to the gas station to fill up. At the pump ahead was a car care horror unfolding.
A young woman with a silver Honda Civic was using the gas station's window squeegie to scrub her car -- front to back, all the paint. Every couple of fenders she'd "refresh" the squeegie in the filthy water.
Good thing her car is silver.

HAHAHA!!! I am embarassed to say this but I too have kind of done that. MANY years ago I had an OOOOOLD Olds' Delta '88 which nothing could hurt. I had some birds leave presents for me on my hood once and since they were the big, slimey looking, green blobs of god knows what I stopped at the nearest gas station and proceeded to use the squeegie to scrub and dry the hood of my car. I would never do that now because I know better.

Since you've copped to a squeegie history, I'll confess to having used Turtle Wax in the 80s. And Armor All.

I've done this before, though I now see the error in my ways! (I hadn't thought of scratching the paint!)
At the time, I figured that a quick squeegee wash was a better fate for my "E" than a big pile of bird crap! :) I might find another way to remove it next time though.

I also saw a woman doing this at a gas station this week. The car was a Jaguar. I had to stare. I was too befuddled to grab my camera phone!

I try to ignore other people at gas stations and grocery stores. Stupidity makes me nauseous.
