  Eh! Everyone,
Just did a little test... Four weeks in the Maritimes, 5400 km. 20% highway, 20% city and 60% provincial roads. Average speed, 100-105km/Hwy, 85-105km/provincial roads and of course 50-70km/city. We were playing tourist, so that means, start, stop, back-up and start again. To our great surprise and pleasure we averaged 8,5L/100km. The car was loaded and I mean loaded with camping gear, excess bagage and both of us. As a bonus, we got a lot of stares, compliments and  What is that car

Thought we'd let you know!

 Happy campers !

-sigh- leave it to the Americans to make it all about them... Peut etre on peut écrir en francais pour voir ce qu'ils pensent

I also just got back from the Maritimes - quick zip down over the long weekend, but my average was in the 11 range. Are you driving an auto or manual? Could be the 130km/h through NB and most of Quebec... and getting stuck in Mtl traffic both ways(15km in 1 hour on the way down...)!! And A/C running most of the time...

It's a lot of fun on a long ride, though...

I split this thread guys.... the topic got dragged way too off topic! For debate about units measure, go to Club X

Hi! I've answered your post but it was moved to Club X, under measure unit or something. My answer was in French, that's probably why ?

Have a good one :)

My husband and I just completed a road trip from Vancouver to Montreal and back (just under 10,000 km) in my '03 GGM Y 5spd. We averaged 8.9l/100km. The most mileage we got on one tank was 643 km. The more we drove, the longer it took for the fuel light to come on. We averaged 100-115 km/hr as well. The best fuel economy on one tank was 7.8l/100km. The Element is the best vehicle I've been in on a road trip. So much room and so many seating positions. Neither of us were ever uncomfortable sitting in the car for 8-10 hours a day.

On another note, when we started off, we thought we'd try counting all the Elements we saw on the road. Well, we were gone for exactly 14 days and I stopped counting after 42 sightings! Kudos to Montreal where we saw 6 just walking around old Montreal one morning. Another sighting of 6 took place heading west between Sudbury and Thessalon.

I highly recommend a road trip in your Element - you'll love it.
