: Cape Cod
jstatik 07-07-2005, 03:28 PM I was just wondering if anyone on this board is on the Cape. I work on the cape, and usually i see about 2 or 3 Elements a day. Since the vacations started, i have to see at least 15-20 a day when im traveling with my job.
PhyrePhoxe 07-07-2005, 04:59 PM I live in NB. I might see you....
jstatik 07-08-2005, 07:15 AM Probably. I'm near Brooklawn Park area. I drive the silver E with tinted windows and side steps. And i have the EOC sticker in the back window. My wife is driving it now most of the time.
ElementOfunk 08-20-2005, 04:52 PM i live in Fairhaven and have been seeing alot more E's since i got mine in March. just my 2 cents

ElementOfunk 07-09-2006, 01:14 AM just wonderin what everyones got planned for the summer any trips in their e's i'm plannin on going campin up in New Hampshire in august sometime (first time campin with the E) what are you up to?
jurneez 07-09-2006, 04:57 AM Hey E-Ofunk,
if you're itching to get camping and tripping with your E read the official summer meet thread in our Northeast area, and read all about the summer camping meet for 2 or 3 days in the Catskills. We already have 18 sites registered, could be guessing about 36 peoeple and then there's some comimg for just the Sunday Lunch.
Should be a real good time.Lots of mods to see and ideas to discuss with other E owners. Check it out.
Where in New Hampshire do you go? I love NH. Are you sleeping in the E or tenting? jeeeez, hope you consider coming out to the meet.

jerryn 08-05-2006, 08:40 PM I just bought my 2006 Element EXP today. It's my 1st new vehicle ever. I got a really good deal on a 2001 Beetle two years ago and the equity there... yah.. I never had vehicle equity I always owed more than it was worth.. well my miles were getting up there so I decided to start looking. I took an element for a test drive I was hooked. At first I was skeptical about the gas milaeage, but the dealer let me take the vehicle as long as I want and it had a full tank of gas.
I took it for about 50 miles, mix of 3/4 highway, 1/4 city. Topped the gas tank off until fuel was just about swewing out of the filler figuring the dealer did the same. I was surprised I average 26.5 mpg. I figure subtact 1 mile for air.. and the mpg is livable. My beatle averaged 27.5mpg since I cruised at about
80mph and it was a turbo, add the added expense of the need to burn 91 octance due to the turbo and it cost me about $70/week to commute. Now since the Element burns regular gas, I should be averageing the same cost with more room. The only downside is I can't drag the element in Epping NH like I did with the Beetle during "Import Wars"
woosterpuss 08-14-2006, 12:12 PM i head down to the cape at least once a month to see my grandmother.
usually midweek when traffic is ok to deal with.
jtrompet 09-23-2006, 01:41 PM Spent 10 days camping in Provincetown with my E. 1st real roadtrip sice I bought it. Made it with no problems! Round trip from Long Island. I had the back seats out and crammed so much crap in there I could barely fit my passenger! Next year I am going to pput in a roof rack! LOL :shock:
jurneez 09-23-2006, 03:10 PM Just came back from the cape, camped / stayed in North Truro, hung out in Ptown, conservation area and both bay and ocean sides in the ruralness of after season state beaches. Saw a huge Seal 100 feet from me. Not a harbor seal or otter, but a full 500+ pound seal. What a great place on the dunes with the E.
I scouted out places for a Cape Cod meet. Thought about those old cabins in a row on the water and stopped to ask. Also stopped at campgrounds and motels. But I found a set of cabins where the manger was so accomodating. They said they would pull a fire permit for a fire on the beach (for those who don't know there are no fires allowed on the cape), would also set up a clam bake and welcomed any easy up cabana's....
I was thinking a two nighter and have some fun.
Of couse I'm planning for next year.
Opinions?

Jurn, that sounds great! We were just down there today, took my last swim of the season, it was so nice... I love the cape in the off-season.
I'd definitely be up for renting cabins on a weekend next year. I would suspect it would have to be before May 15 or after Sept 15 to make it reasonable. Where were these cabins?
Glad you had a good vacation,
Harry
cai88 09-24-2006, 11:39 PM Jurn that sounds amazing! You know I'm up for that.
Dom.five 09-25-2006, 12:08 AM Well Hell, It was almost a MEET! I was fishing off Truro today! ( I went down by boat ) We came back with 4 Strippers All over 40 Inches!!!!! The largest was 47" and came in at 44 Lbs. We were fishing the rips just400 yards off shore.
Next time we MUST Post before we go.
Dom

Uncle MIke 09-25-2006, 01:04 PM Here is a link to a very popular CAPE COD campground, SCUSSET BEACH, where you can also drive or camp on the beach with a special permit:

Think enough time has passed for it to be safe for you to go back?:lol:
jurneez 09-25-2006, 06:18 PM Heys Guys, I thought the cape would be fun. Would we want to do this instead of Tentback Mountain, which is early spring before memorial day or in addtional too. Perhaps for Sept?????
We certainly do book ourselves don't we. Only E owners would understand this.
Harry, I was in North Truro although I covered every inch of the upper part. I also took my last walk in the water, ocean side, up to my thighs. I honor you as you had the strength and courage to go in......
Dom I really thought the fishing was crappy. It was in all the papers up there and they said it was due to warm temps. My friends didn't have half the luck you did! Something fishy here:confused:
Carly, I never doubted for one moment you would be anywhere our meets are. You're so dependale, even though you get there late:D
BB I agree with Mike, enough time has gone by. All shreds of evidence from then is gone.....hehehehhehe
Mike - the link looks like a nice place, but have you ever seen the sites, so we would know if they're shaddy or sunny, flat or hilly, just curious.......
I looked at 50's type cabins on Rt 6a right on the water in North Truro. The cabins are the type where the 2x4's show on the inside, and a little in need of paint on the outside, but friendly as heck the people were. No heat. Pets okay.
Campgrounds- Adventure Bound was the cleanest and most accomodating folks who aren't camers-
* Sites nestled in native pines (Most sites shady so please ask us for details)
* Clean, modern ceramic tiled restrooms
* Flush toilets
* HOT showers (coin operated)
* Laundromat
* Nearby stores and services
* Offering campers the utmost in comfort while striving to preserve the Cape's fragile ecosystem
* Data port at call box in parking lot
* Wi-Fi service – hot spots throughout the park
They were also friendly and are willing to group together E folks.
April 14-May23 or Sept 16-Oct 14 rates for primative sites are only16. (reduced from $32 in season)
Water and Electric sites are reduced to $19. from $38.
Jeeez, I'd go for the power and water.
Anyway, these sites are one mile from beach so that's why I was wondering about the link you sent.
That's it folks......

I havn't checked out the sites, but my sister camps on the beach there all of the time and loves it. (Not sure if anyone wants to try this with an Element)The next time I'm on the Cape, I'll make it a point to check out the campsites.
Here is another link to a nice campground in Sandwich I have fond memories of as a teenager, with TONS of amenities:

Adventure Bound sounds interesting too!:wink:

It's an old spot that we fish, when the fishing is "bad", that tends to produce fish. It has worked for years, and did not fail us this time. There have been times when it has been a waste of time. Not this time, not for us. There were 2 other boats out there that came up with nothing. When we went into the dock to get lunch inside P-Town, we had people bidding on the fish. We were not selling.

Don't be too impressed, Craigville is a lot warmer than Truro...

Hey, that would be really nice if you could pull off some pics.
It's tough without seeing the place but I think it's probably a fine place.
Thanks,

Sorry, my mind started to wander, it does that rather quickly when these topics are brought up and I couldn't resist. This was a sample that i had used in a remix I had done for a bodybuilder for his competion.
