I'm very interested in buying an Element but would prefer one with a hybrid engine like the Civic. Does Honda have any plans for offering the Element with a hybrid engine? If so, in what model year?

As far as I know Honda has no plans to put the hybrid engine on the E. maybe in a few years they might, but for now, the 2.4 is the only engine it will have.

Honda has been working on a hybrid CR-V and I have heard, but it has not been confirmed, that because of the shared platform and all, that it may find its way into the Element.

I would not expect to see it for a couple of years if it does happen but I think the Element would be a great candidate for it.

From what I understand about the hybrid design (as it is now), the batteries take up quite a bit of room, and add a lot to the weight of the vehicle. If that was the case, I am not sure that the E is the right vehicle for it. If the current weight that the E can carry is 675, adding a bunch of big batteries may not work too well.
