SIGH!
next year damnit.... i'm saving my money now...
T Mac 07-15-2005, 11:41 PM Next year most likely will not be at East Liberty. We are working on a few ideas for a location and I'll let everyone know down the line where/when that might be.
As for now, I'm completely exhausted and need a break for a while, as does Julie and I'm sure Larry as well. And, in a few months we'll have to start thinking about the Christmas Toy Drive for Toys For Tots. Hopefully Amy can run the show for us this year and we can all come together for a good cause on that one.
In early 06, we'll start to finalize plans for next summer's meet.
LEGO MY E 07-16-2005, 01:21 AM It's a CULT, I tell ya! A CULT!!!!!!!! :)
Sheniferous 07-16-2005, 03:21 AM lets make the next meet west-er-er....
i say wyoming or the dakotas... think about it... sturges, yellowstone, devil's tower, mt. rushmore, etc...
EOC Great America 2006!
of course, i'd love to have the meet in torrance... right where honda america's corporate headquarters are... we could do the cruise up PCH to malibu to neptune's net for and camp out on thornhill-broom beach and spent the next day hiking through the mountains.
wait. that sounds like a good plan for a local meet...... lol.
LEGO MY E 07-16-2005, 04:34 AM Yeah, Before you know it T-Mac will have us all wearing Nike sneakers
Heck... if they're nik-"E" I'd buy 'em!! :)
Now all hail the mantra of the fellow "E" owner...
Honda, oh great Honda...
I give myself to thee...
provider of life, I'm grateful...
Just don't F with my "E"!!
The season is right...
to make the windshield right...
Now how about them 5 seats??
LEGO MY E 07-16-2005, 04:52 AM Shut up and drink your Kool-Aid
LOL - Man! And I just moved away from the mountains of North Idaho! And for what?? :)
I'm drinkin' Smirnoff Ice, actually... that right after 6 Rolling Rock's! But don't let that deter the would-be cultists among us... I'm like this when I'm sober!
Ok, back to topic... Cool pics everyone (including those posted in other threads - yep! I don't miss a beat! - except when it comes to grammatical errors!) Man, I wish I could've been there for this "E" Vent!! Dammit, maybe next year I'll have vacation time and enough savings to make the trip! Man, I really missed out on this one!!!! As Shen has said in other posts... Sigh!!! :)
LEGO
angienbart 07-16-2005, 08:44 AM Go west for the next E-vent huh? sounds good to me! Like the pioneers of old, I will pack up my stagEcoach and head west. Now let me start my list. Tequila, 6 shooter, deck of cards,... PEACE!!! BART
Phill 07-16-2005, 10:25 AM It was a great time. I have brought back with me lots of memories and ideas for the coming months. It was quite an undertaking for Tom and Julie and it is much appreciated. I have to bow out for todays events because it was a bit much for wife as she is handicaped. We really should have booked a room to make life easier. I will look forward to next year. I didn't meet everyone but I met a lot of great owners. I think it was a learning process for Honda as well as the people on the first meet. They seemed surprised at the diverse group of owners. Their hospitality was outstanding. It was pretty cool seeing the SUV you own being built and all the history behind it. I wouldn't mind paying a little more next year if it ment making life easier for those that organize such a thing. I know it aint easy! My vote next year is Hawaii ... Just kiddin.
Hope everyone has a great time at Hocking Hills today and have a safe trip home. See ya in the forum.
hownowcb 07-20-2005, 12:55 AM I've suggested to T-Mac that next year the group ought to consider (explore the possibilities of) having a similar event near Honda's California offices. It's no secret the majority of Elements are sold in California, and having driven east from the Mississippi to the two largest meets the past two summers, I'd like to see the western members get a shot at the limelight. I certainly won't be in any position to make a west coast sojourn, and the following year won't likely even be living in the U.S., but this is about the whole; not me.
It's nice to feel I "belong" to something bigger than the car, or than Honda. Difficult to describe, but those who've had the fun we have know what I'm talking about. I feel like a pig, having been able to do this two years running now, but don't regret a single moment, and hope "the rest of you" avail yourselves of the total immersion a big meet provides. Amazing people, "we" are.
Tim Vance 07-20-2005, 10:34 PM Colin, I bow before the wonders of such an articulate wordsmith.... snifff
We too thank everyone (TMac, JuliE, spdrcr5, Thadd, etc) for putting this together. I know the work that goes on behind the scenes, and appreciate the effort involved. Thanks guys!!
Elaine and I want to vote for Las Vegas for the next one!!! I'd put the E on a train and ship it down if I had to!!!
We don't care where the next one is, as long as the rest of you can make it. We really should start to plan a location, so we can book the time off well in advance.....
We had a great time, thanks to all the wonderful pEoplE who could make it, and look forward to meeting up with the rest of you!!
Imamonkey 07-20-2005, 10:38 PM Thanks to all who showed up.

I feel sort of corny saying this, but I love my Element so much, if I have the time, I may actually go next year.
T Mac 07-20-2005, 10:50 PM I don't want anyone to have the expectation that we are returning to East Liberty next year because currently that is not a plan. In fact, I think that Honda would prefer that we not come back next year but maybe we could return at a later time. If I hear otherwise, you'll certainly be hearing about it.
cai88 07-20-2005, 10:54 PM The misfits voted that Las Vegas might not be good for us. We fear we could all be arrested and the Canadians deported

let's have the national meet in mexico... puerto vallarta...
lots of debauchery waiting to happen there.....

Arrested in Vegas!?!?!?!
Isn't that an oxymoron?? C'mon it's not a party unless the cops show up, someone gets arrested, or something gets broken. Darn, only one of the three happened this weekend ( that I'll admit to, I must be getting old :-D ).
And for the record, the cop told me to have a nice day, eh?

the cops show up and hand out misdemeanors for coke, and jail for marijuana. stupid mobs that control vegas.
last time i was there... um... nevermind, can't tell those stories. ;)

Was it something we said??
Every best wish to all.

Vigilante 07-21-2005, 11:43 AM I'm curious why Honda wouldn't want us back?
And I know this isn't the "what's your suggestion for next year's meet" thread, but something much more west would be great!
T Mac 07-21-2005, 12:31 PM I'm curious why Honda wouldn't want us back?
I don't think it's that Honda doesn't "want" us back. Actually, I think they do want us back somewhere down the road. That being said, group tours for that facility are rare. What just happened was special. They made it special. Those of us who went should be happy and I know we are. :-D
Also, Honda in Ohio has a huge undertaking of the big Honda motorcycle event that takes place every summer. They have tens of thousands of motorcycles come into the area and they have to arrange for that event, tours for the motorcycle plant, etc. Based on what it took to pull off our event w/ less than 100 people, I'm sure the motorcycle event has them swamped.

I agree wholeheartedly. Next year's tour should be in West Libery, OH. Make the haul a bit shorter for those afeared of a little driving.
Vigilante 07-21-2005, 01:24 PM Afraid of a little driving?
Trying to drive 2250 miles with a 3 year old in the car; you're damn right I'm afraid.
That makes sense T Mac.
Honda has an R & D Test track out in the Mojave Desert area, maybe we could get permission to take our Es out for a little spin (j/k). Of course it's 108 degrees out there today too.

Id rather have that than the "heat index of 110" we have right now with the 93 degree heat and 90% humidity.

The Japanese EOC is going to Honda Japan's Proving Grounds for their next meet. I don't know if that means they'll be driving on it or watching events.
BTW Vigilante, you gonna come to the HB meet?
Vigilante 07-21-2005, 01:44 PM Yeah, we should be. See you there.
