: The best of the Big Event for me.
Gear Jammer 07-22-2005, 07:28 AM In no particular order:
Meeting the rugged individualists who form the Lunatic Transportation Fringe Group, fellow E-people.
Driving in convoys with Elements as far as the eye could see.
The warm reception by the folks at Honda.
The tour of the Honda plant.
Being asked for proof of age when ordering a drink at Quaker Steak & Lube. Usually my grey mustache is accepted as proof. :-D
Watching Warthog watch Mrs. Warthog when he knew (& she didn't) that she was going to be asked for proof of age.
Gasoline near the hotel was about $.25/gallon cheaper than in Annapolis.
Winning the grand prize at the raffle drawing.
Knowing that we are going to do it again!
That about covers it for me. What about you?
Every best wish,
G.J.
sprocket_old_boy 07-22-2005, 08:56 AM Of course first on the list if getting to meet all of you weirdo's who drive unaerodynamical boxes like me :P.
The Honda tour was awesome, I would like to do it again, but much slower and with a camera.
Getting to laugh at all the drunks in the parking lot on Friday night ;).
and of course knowing that we get to do it all over again (but in a differant location).
Last, but not least, not having to endure the wonderful flooding weather that was happening in Houston while I was gone.
They guy that rode with me was making fun of the Element like the whole time. I thought it was kind of funny that he would do that infront of all of the other Element owners, but it's o.k. He got his payback. He took his Toyota Corolla in for a BROKEN seal on the sunroof, and what did he get as a loaner. None other than a Scion :P. Haha, I just thought it was kind of ironic.
Bald Eagle 07-22-2005, 10:43 AM All of the above, plus finding out that Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top drives an Element. He wasn't wearing his hat and dark glasses and has lost some weight. Oh, and he goes by the name "WingDr" on the EOC site.

What was the grand prize?
juliE 07-23-2005, 12:41 PM The grand prize was a $250 H and A Gift Certificate!
Tessa Y 07-23-2005, 05:00 PM Ahhh!!! COOL!!! Congrats!!!
hownowcb 07-24-2005, 03:19 PM Just before leaving the East Liberty factory late Friday afternoon, I had the opportunity to "re-meet" Mr. and Ms. KRATE BIKE. Believe it or don't, I'm not the most sociable guy on the planet, but they're the couple I walked up to last year in Gettysburg, as total strangers, and invited to join our band of "Misfits".
Seeing them as full-fledged members this year was heart-warming, to say the least. I've done my good deed for the decade, and can sleep easier tonight. :-D
hownowcb 07-24-2005, 03:28 PM One more thing - I had to slow down quickly to allow my son to capture this "moment" a few hundred miles west of Columbus in the middle of the dark:
