We've seen one other E in town so far - so maybe we are the only ones! Anyone else out there?

Also, I'd like to formally petition that Kentucky be added to the Mid-West list, before someone from Bowling Green or Paducah puts me in the South. *yikes*

Email T-Mac and he will add KY to the Midwest.

Just joined The Club and I am considering buying an Element, I was very interested in a 2003 CRV Auto EX and then the Element came along. Do you have one? If so how do you like it ? I live in the Hyde Park area.

Hello,

Last week just purchased a new black EX. I bought it in Dayton but the dealer traded with a Cin dealer. I have seen another black one and a orange one in the Dayton area. Not too many around.

I was just about to post a complaint about the ommision of KY. I feel like the last kid picked for the dodgeball game. I just moved to KY last fall, and have found this problem often. Look at the Weather Channel! With the exception of tornado warnings, you'll NEVER see a map that clearly shows the Bluegrass state. We're either cut off at the bottom of the MidWest map or cut off the top in the SouthEast map.

I certainly think KY fits better with the MidWest than the Southeast. Have you emailed T-Mac yet? I am definitely the only E in Danville, but I've heard rumors of Lexington sightings....

No I haven't emailed him yet. Been kinda busy - havent check the regional forum for awhile. I have seen a few E's around Cincy - very few. Lots of lookers though.

We need to start getting together as a group about once a month, go somewhere on a Saturday Afternoon for lunch and such - can you imagine the looks with if a group of Elements pull up ! Way cool

I'm game if any other Cincy folks are interested

I'm interested, but Saturday is bad for me because of work. Of course I usually get off at 5pm, so something after that would be nice. Will probably sit down with the wife this weekend and decide what color t-shirts we want to order. She has narrowed it down to three colors that she would like!

HOFBRAUHAUS sounds great - how about it CincyElement and PSM 0110?
How about Sunday Afternoon June 8th? Say 2:00pm?

This weekend would be bad for me, and I'm sure others already have plans for this Memorial weekend already.

I will post something under the meetings and events to see if we can get a few more "E's"

Shirts sounds like a good Idea - will ask the wife what color she wants, I know I'll end up with @ least two for me

GG Element, got it for a B-Day present to myself back in April. Had to get rid of the green mustang anyway. Seen one other Blue E on the road here in the NorthWest part of Cincy and have a friend who purchased an Orange E who lives on the Westside.

Count me in on the June 8th get-to-gether :)

Have all your Element friends join us - I have called my dealer to let him know to send any Element owner to the Hofbrauhaus on the 8th of June @ 2:00pm

The more the merrier (sp?)

I just some e-mails to the local Honda dealers about our meeting to see if they would maybe give us some freebies or discounts as a group. So far, I haven't heard anything back.

Any idea how many of us will be there on that Sunday? Sent e-mails to the local dealers and didn't hear back from any of them. Ran into a couple at the Hyde Park Plaza and gave them this site's address. The wife decided what color shirt she wants, so I guess I'll put that in the mail today!

It is very seldom that dealers give group-buy type discounts - especially in Cincinnati. The H-and-A and other online shops are already very much below retail. Typically, group-buys work best for after market products, such as a self-dimming rear view mirror with compass/temperature and homelink. At least, this is my experience with 2 years of Passat GB activity on ClubB5.com. They also are seldom worth the effort unless the item is valued over $100 or so and discounted at least 15% IMHO.

ORANGEE
05-27-2003, 10:50 AM
As far as I can tell, we will have about 5 Element owners there.
I also have not heard back from my dealer if he is planning on coming - but I do know what PSM-0110 said about group buys pretty much holds true.
My wife and I are looking forward to it.
I just returned from a road trip to Maryland over the weekend ( I now have over 1000 miles on my E) - getting just over 23 miles to the gallon!

SUV-stuffing makes city life fun
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Event promotes young professionals

By Maggie Downs
The Cincinnati Enquirer

Who hasn't wondered how many young professionals could fit into a Honda Element?

Luckily, YPCincy.com, the young professional network with the Greater Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce, did the work for us.

It also brought together local college students and more than 25 organizations on Fountain Square for a common goal - to retain young people in the Tristate.

Wednesday's event was designed to help build ties among the area's young professionals and their organizations - while stuffing a few people into a boxy sport utility vehicle.

(FYI: You can cram 21 people in there - including Mayor Charlie Luken.)

"It's a new twist on an old college tradition to demonstrate how passionate we are to advance the vision and energy of young professionals in Cincinnati," said Melinda Canino, workforce solutions consultant at the chamber.

It also was a way to bring people together - quite literally - like Luken, who was stretched across a stack of eight or nine people.

"I swore I wasn't going to do it, because I'm a little bit claustrophobic, but they made a nice space for me," Luken said.

Natalie Wheeler, assistant director of communications for the Cincinnati Art Museum, was on the Honda's dashboard.

"I didn't feel claustrophobic at all," she said. "The window helped."

Wheeler, who attended the event to represent both the museum's Renaissance Society and Legacy, an organization of young leaders, said that the afternoon was educational for others, too.

"It was good to show the whole community that there are organizations out there devoted to the young professional cause." .

Luken said it was beneficial for him as well:

"I don't see enough of that group in my daily work, and I enjoy talking to them and getting some of their perspectives on the city," he said. "They want the city to be more exciting, more fun. And I know that if cities are going to survive long term we need that energy very badly."

I bought my SOP E back in October, I've seen a lot of E's on the road around town. More on the East side than the west but I see at least one almost anytime I'm driving. I live in Mt. Airy and bought mine at Superior Honda. See you on the road!

Got a Mag Metallic 2 weeks ago. I split my time between Youngstown, OH (business) and Cincinnati (business/wife), specifically Clifton.

My E feels very at home on Ludlow, right by the Esquire and 3 Indian restaurants!

I've seen quite a large number of Cinti E's, especially around Clifton gas light...

I'd be up for a Cinti E outing, if there's enough interest... I'd even help plan it! Anyone else interested?

This is a little sad. After starting this thread so many years ago, posting in it to say goodbye. We're selling our beloved E. Nothing personal, we just had our second child and while we're getting by in the Element, a little more space, like a 3rd row, would be welcome. That and we can't do the seat origami when there are child seats latched into them. :-(

This is a terrible used car market, so if you have any friends or family who want a very well kept Element, send me a PM. I'll gut the price for buyers who won't peal off my EOC sticker!

dfreeze
07-22-2005, 09:57 PM
 Sad, but completely understandable. I have a 2-year-old in a forward-facing seat and a 2-month-old in a rear-facing seat. You lose the utility of the vehicle because it's really a pain in the a$$ to get those child seats out!

We're shopping as well, but not parting with the E - we're replacing my wife's car.

Just a note to our Cincinnati friends:
This morning before heading out, sometime between 6 and 6:30 AM Chicago time I was watching the Weather Channel. They had a report from Bengals stadium and in the background were two cars getting ready to tail-gate. Sure enough there stood an SOP Element! Thought the color scheme perfect for a Bengals fan. :)
