What do you think about teenagers drving these??
I've bought brand new cars for my other children and I let them pick it out and now my youngest daughter has chosen this one.
It's under $20K at our local dealerships that I've contacted so that's a deciding factor but I want to know opinions on whether or not you'd let a teenager drive one, and about how they handle on wintery roads, etc..
Thanks, JR

Well JR, I have to know: WHY are you worried about a teenager driving this car??? You have been nice enough (and well off enough) to go out and buy a car for a teenager and worry about how it will affect them. Did you worry about your other children and how they could handle it? I get bugged very much about 16 year old kids bragging about how their parents bought them a brand new Porche, or Caddy Escalade, or Mercedes. This post bugs me in a similiar way.

JRLP:
This is a sensible vehicle for a sensible young adult. Hope that helps.

I thought the rage for kids now was to drive either tricked out Honda Civics/Dodge Neons/Chevy Cavaliers/etc. or drive hoopty cars like beat up Jettas or similar vehicles. Not brand new Escalades or 911s.... I guess it depends on where you live.

Seriously, good safe car for a teenager.

The one I have on order is for my daughter. She is not a teenager, but she just graduated from college. A car like ans Element is perfect for a kid going off to college. RToomy enough to hold all their stuff getting there. Roomy enough to cary people and cargo after she is there. Safe in an accident.
But best of all, it is not "stylish." It looks weird and will always look weird. This it can be kept for 10 years and not go out of style. The VW Thing I bought right out of graduate school was just such a car. I owned it 18 years and sold it for more than I paid for it when my second child was born.
