I have been the proud owner of my E for three weeks. Have seen two others so far. What's the status? Any other Minnesotans around?

I'm not in MN, but I am in WI.

I've seen a handful of E's buzzin around Eau Claire. However, so far, the dealership told me I'm only the second sunset orange pearl around the area. Makes it handy for friends to recognize me! ;)

I also own a 4WD Shoreline Mist E. Someone owns a Galapagos Green one 4 blocks from my house and a guy who works at Byerley's Roseville owns a black one. I have seen two silver ones driving around...I'm kind of surprised there aren't more around.

I've seen at least three others from the Twin Cities posting here (besides those who have posted on this thread so far).

And someone not too far across Brooklyn Park has had one parked in their driveway a couple of times as I went by.

Soon to be SOP EX AWD owner here in the northern Suburbs. For the longest time I was only seeing 1-2 a week, but recently I can count on seeing one a day. Record is three in about 45 minutes on I35W!

I just bought one in Brainerd a few days ago. I have seen one other one on the road here, but that is it.

We should have an element meeting here in the lakes area.

Well i've got a Eternal Blue ex 4wd (very easy to spot, I have a Sticker of Scooter from the Muppets in the back window)

I've actually meet one other owner, outside the CompUSA in Roseville, I She had an EB dx (i think it was 4wd...then again would anyone buy a 2w in the minnesota?!?)

What i don't understand they seemed to be flying off the lot when i bought mine from Burkle Honda. I ended up having to wait for mine (luckly only like a month..but that was one hard month to be around me) But Yeah I've seen more in the last month or so, but i got mine in at the begining of March, and since then....I saw a black one at Lake Josephine, The blue one, and one was following me part of the way down 494 the other night....

I swear we must all be hidding from each other.

I've got my black E driving from Brooklyn Park to Roseville every day. I often pass another black E parked in a lot right near my office (Right off of Hwy 35, between County Roads C and D).

I should hop out and stick an invite to EOC on their windscreen!

if you folks want nothing to do with such a naughty flamer (as myself on these boards in days only recently passed), but now that I've settled down? Have you noticed that nobody's even included Minnesota in the "Midwest" category! What are we, "Not Quite Canadian"? "The almost-but-not-quite Great White North"? What's up with that? It must be the preponderance of scandinavian natives' reserve hereabouts (my own included), but hardly anyone waves or flashes high beams. In three months of ownership I've only been acknowledged by two or three other Element owners on the road. (How can they know so readily that it must be the "evil" hownowcb just trying to say "hi"?) So, for what it's worth - somebody besides me name a place and time to consider meeting, and let's just see what happens.

Have seen lots of Minnesota E's. If you wave a good Minnesotan will wave back. Have stopped and talked to a few. You do have to wonder why Minnesota is not listed as one of the Midwest states on this forum! Should we feel snubbed or special?

Good Place, but.... Was trying to think of someplace where we could all park together in one place and maybe be able to look out the window and see all those beautiful "E's lined up!!! Maybe someone will come up with a good idea at some fun restuarant/bar with a big parking lot that won't be so heavy with Christmas shoppers.....Anyone have ideas?? Doesn't have to be right away, We could wait till after the holidays if it's better for everyone.

Just met the nice co-owner of a silver Element in the Highland Park area this evening. She hadn't heard of the EOC boards here, so I suggested it. And also mentioned our Toy Drive for the holidays. Maybe one more (couple) to include in a local meet? At my age (old) I like to avoid the M of A, but for an Element meet, would sacrifice personal issues in favor of improving local sociability. I may also have volunteered to help deliver the toy bounty in St. Louis, Missouri the weekend of December 19 this evening in the on-site chat, so if someone here has "nothing better to do" that weekend, I may be in need of a copilot for the road trip if they ask me to follow through on my offer!

boxonw
11-26-2003, 02:41 PM
I'm not too hot about M of A either.
I suggested it, because it is a well known land mark.

There are two other places that I can think of, Lion's Tap in Eden Prairie and Ma Ma G's in Maple Grove.

I suggested that we should meet before X-MAS, each of us could bring a toy for the Toy Drive that hownowcb volunteered for.

Happy Thanksgiving,

hownowcb

I know both places, and although they're "out west" for me, I certainly don't mind the drive. But I was hoping nobody would notice my insane offer in the on-site chat last night. If we're just quiet about it, maybe Diane will "forget" and we can mail our contribution. I did mine through PayPal directly to St. Louis Penguin (Diane) last night, and am happy to see the little bump show up in the club's graph for last night.

While the rest of Minnesota was napping, I took the opportunity to meet with a Packer fan from Wisconsin (while the Vikings were losing to Chicago and Green Bay was beating San Diego). We had a great time; what were you doing? Neither of us cared who won a stupid football game, by the way. You folks wanna talk, or you wanna meet? (Both our E's were suitably salt-crusted, and yet still beautiful!)

Hello there! Happy New Year!

I moved to MN in August of 78 and stay put ever since. I've visited CA on several occasions with my parents and work relate pit-stop. I do like CA's weather and it's occean' but would not trade that for MN easy going life style.

Since I graduated from U of M with an EE back in 92, CA hi-Tech does attracted my attention in my jr. years as a engineer.

Twin Cities have alot to offer, specially Wayzata. Just few minutes to DT for night life and also 5 min to Lake Minnetonka a great hang out on a lazy hot afternoon MN's weather.

Victoria is a small upcoming community of 4-6 thousand and growing fast. It located between Waconia and Chanhassen on Hwy. 5, new housing development is very brisk also more affortable than Wayzata.

I wish you the best of luck and welcome back to the great state of 10,000 plus lakes.

Take care,

 I'm only posting this to let "viewers" know that as a local native, I felt compelled to respond to isdkelly's remarks, but have done so privately. Some have thought it "rude" of me in past for not appearing to respond to direct questions, when in fact, I have PMed responses to direct questions without "viewers" knowing it.

Wanted to find out what the skinny was on the MN Honda dealers when it comes to their service departments? I'd like to have the dealer service at the maintenance intervals, but based on the stories posted here ($120 for an oil change) from other parts of the country, I'm considering doing them myself....

Let's all meet at Porky's on University in St. Paul and back our E's into the far back row of the parking lot.

Apparently, you've never heard of Art-A-Whirl - NE Minneapolis' annual gallery tour-thing. It's a pretty big deal around here, but with so many galleries open, it's not always easy to find the good ones. Art-A-Whirl starts tonight and goes through this weekend. Visit www.art-a-whirl.com.

A weekday evening at Dunn Bros. would be fine. Thursday is usually best for me.

Minneapolis?...isn't that a suburb of St. Paul? Actually I've done a gallery walk some years ago. It was really fun. Hadn't paid attention lately and didn't know the "Art-A-Whirl" name. People watching was the most fun when I did the thing years ago.

I plan on leaving Wednesday in the afternoon and making it to Champaign/Urbana and stopping for the night. The next day I will finish the last 5 hours and make it there on Thursday afternoon.

I plan on leaving the big event Saturday evening. I have my mothers 65th birthday on Monday and I think we are going to dinner on Sunday to celebrate. I don't want to miss my Mom turning 65.

I wish I could go to the national meet, but it just isn't going to work out for us this time.

Last summer, we drove to Cleveland, OH for a family reunion and we got lots of honks and waves around the Columbus area. I thought I had my seat belt hanging out of the door or something, but I finally figured out why everybody was so friendly - we were in the Element's home town! So have a great time, take lots of pictures so all of us who have to stay home can live vicariously through you.

Maybe we can all get together in a couple of weeks to hear about the national meet?

It's too bad we didn't get the MN Elements together in Columbus for a photo.

Yes a get together soon would be good.

Did you meet h_man01 (Michael) and his wife Debra? They had the NBP with FUN E plates. Super nice people. He is up for any meet we can put together. He also suggested a meet with a scenic back road drive. He is not from Minneapolis originally so I think he would like to see more of the city. I'm cool with that. Something around Stillwater or even Redwing down 61 might be cool.

I've been inspired! I went out tonight and got the supplies for the Home Depot Grill upgrade. I figure for under $5 I can try this out first before the Cloud Rider upgrade. I might try the side marker light mod this weekend.

I con't believe I missed you this weekend. I should have stayed longer at Quaker Steak and Lube. I ate inside so I missed out on the big outside table. The next big meet I hope to have a partner in crime (read as girlfriend) for the next big meet.

Let us know if you have an open weekend day soon and we can work out a meet place and time.

I installed this grill screen last year - it's super easy to do. I'm not sure I'm convinced it would stop a rock from piercing the radiator, but it's worth a try. Before you buy the Cloud rider grilles, look up the Mr. Grill - to my eye it looks better, and I think it's cheaper. Element Art has them on his E.

...TC owners are from the St. Paul side of the river...

Joe Mama

Not all of us are from the right bank! That doesn't mean we don't know how to cross the river, though. I'm definitely up for getting together again, especially if we can get some of the new members to show up! I'm usually available on Saturday afternoons.

joemama

I will check out MR Grill. Thanks for the heads-up on that.

Now that I have my HD special installed (and I have the cuts on my hands to prove it) I think I will keep them in for a few weeks. I'm not sure it would stop a rock either but it's better than going naked.

It could be fun to go to a Honda Dealer some Saturday and help sell some new Elements. We can all pull up to the dealer and show off the mods and the fun we have with our Elements. If we could work out some free service or parts all the better.

Maybe we can meet somewhere in the middle. Has anyone been to the Longfellow Grill (http://www.longfellowgrill.com/) yet? It's right on the River at Lake and West River Parkway. Looks like it could be a nice place to meet some weekend morning. I have been past it a few times and it looks pretty busy which is always a good sign that you won't get food poisioning. :)

Good thing I'm at work where I have time to respond to postings!

Great location - I've driven by lots of times, and it looks nice. Does the restaurant have a parking lot? Alternatively, we could meet at Hidden Falls Park - just south of the Ford plant on the East side.

Maybe afterwards we could do a loop up the East River parkway and down the West side. It would qualify as a scenic drive and it would be the ideal length for me because I would have my 15-month-old daughter with me, who would get bored on a longer ride than that. I'd love to see a caravan of Elements along the parkway! That would almost make up for missing the National meet.

Not super sure about the Parking. I know there is plenty of street parking in front but not sure about a lot.

Yes the Parkway would be a nice little drive. I'm open either weekend. We can check back when other members post to see when it could be a "go".

Hello Twin Cities! We are proud new owner of a SSM with Blue E!! Hope to see you around

:)

Welcome, Sechack. I am in Cottage Grove, but drive through Bloomington at least twice a week. If you see an Orange Element with a white Apple Computer, Inc. bumper sticker, that's probably me. I say "probably" because I was in Bloomington on Monday, and I came across another Orange Element with a white Apple bumper sticker. How weird is that! Of course, I honked, we both waved at each other, and I pulled in front of her so she could see my Apple sticker.

Its cool to stand out, in more ways than one.

Joe Mama - you're a mad man driving the 14 hours straight through! We stayed the night in Champaign and got home Sunday around 4.

The road around Hocking Hills was a blast. I'm inspired to seek out some nice twisty's around here.

As for a local, formal get together, the upcoming weekends for me will be hit or miss. You all should pick a date & time - I'll join in if I can.

Great looking mods done by the folks who showed up for the national meet. Definitely need to get some kind of grill set up & do the fog lights, & I'd love to paint my calipers.

I missed hownowcb too. We'll have to hook up & do a post meet group shot!

Debra tells me she wants to fix you up with a co worker. I haven't seen her so I'll do some recon before I pass your name out.

Glad to hear you got home same. Cheers!

Sorry for the slow response, I have been out of town. We bought our E at Hopkins Honda.

My wife makes daily trips to Savage so you will most likely catch her behind the wheel.

I only get to drive it on the weekends...

Hi sechack,

Bloomington to Savage is nothing these days with that new beautiful Bloomington Ferry Bridge. On the other hand any bridge in a Minnesota winter can be a hairy place if there is icing conditions. I can tell you from two years experience that the Element is a great winter car. I got mine at Hopkins Honda as well. They seem to have a great selection when I am over there for my oil changes.

h_man01,

Yes I think I will not try and drive 14 hours in one day again. It wasn't too smart as my brain can only stay sharp for so long before it just goes to sleep.

Debra tells me she wants to fix you up with a co worker. I haven't seen her so I'll do some recon before I pass your name out.

Please do the recon work and let me know. I've had good luck with this type of set-up (a model/actress I dated for about a year, and a great girl who went off the deep end after about 6 months)

I just got my new cards printed I can give you and Debra to pass along. In additiion to changing my business cards I had some cards printed up with my name, and phone number along with a new title for myself:

Bill Cunningham
Bad Mamma Jamma

I really like the look of the Home Depot Special grill inserts. I really think the Cloud Rider or similar grill would be a great way to go. The stock grill just isn't flashy enough.

We have to figure out a time for the TC Element Owners to meet up.

Have fun,

Joe Mama

I have a bright red 05 awdEX in St Paul. Just got it in April. Only a week after, someone threw a rock through my windshield in my typically, very safe nieghborhood. No doubt young male angst at a car that always seems to be smiling at you. Some people just don't like happy things I guess.

joemama

You know I had a rock thrown at my windshield in St. Paul. Last Fall a group of about 30 students (and I use that term loosely) from a Charter School were standing waiting for the light at the corner of Hamline and Marshall. One of those "Students" (read as thugs) tried to throw a rock at my Beagle who was sticking her head out of the passenger side window as I drove through the intersection. Well fortunately for me and my Beagle Scout the rock just missed my dogs head and hit the windshield.

I turned around got out of My Element and asked the kids, "Who threw the rock?”. I got silence. I said, "I will ask again then I'm calling 911 and let the police sort it out now who threw the rock?" Silence again. So I called 911 and told them I just had a rock thrown at my windshield by a group of kids who at this time were now shouting at me." The 911 dispatcher could hear the crowd around me. The dispatcher asked if I was Ok and was the situation in control. I told her that I was standing in the middle of 30 Somali and African American kids one of which had already had throw a rock at me, what do you think? [B]Get someone here right away! [B].

Then a man who introduced himself to me as the Director of the School said there was no need to call 911. I told him I gave you and your students an opportunity to step forward and you didn't, I'm already on the line with 911.

Five of St. Paul's finest pulled up within two minutes. The kids started shouting and harassing the cops. Then another older male from the school walked up and told me and the officers that HE was the Director of the school.

I said which is it? You or that guy. His reply? "Oh him? He's a gym teacher not a director. Nice... the teachers even lie at that school. Great learning environment.

Surprise surprise no one stepped forward but the cops were ready to arrest two of three of the little buggers. If things turn out the way I think they will for some of those kids I'm sure there will be plenty of time for that after they turn 18.

Be sure to watch yourself around the charter school at Hamline and Marshall in St. Paul. You just might end up with a cracked windshield or a dead dog.

Why do we fund these schools again?

Welcome to the EOC!

The Minneapolis group needs to try and get coordinated and have a meet some Saturday morning or afternoon here soon. I am sure we would all like to see your mods.

If you have not already found it on your own I have ordered several things from H and A . THey have great customer service and the prices are pretty good as well.

If you see a 2003 Eternal Blue Pearl with a Krusty the Clown sticker on one side of the rear window and Hanna Barbara's McGilla Gorilla on the other that's me. Be sure to say hello.

Again welcome,

Welcome to our crazy world, Bill! Be sure to check out the area on the EOC site about the national meet last summer.

I'm going to be bold again and suggest we get together Saturday, October 1. I have a couple of ideas for location, but I haven't checked the out yet, so any ideas are welcome. Does the date work for anyone else? Maybe we can meet mid-afternoon like we did last time. This time I might even wash my E and vacuum out all the stale cheerios from the back seat before the meet up!

I can make October 1 work.

I will throw in a suggestion: Longfellow Grill on East Lake and the River (very close to St. Paul). I have not been there but I threw it out there a month or so ago as a possible meet place.

I have been placing EOC info on the Elements I see around town so Maybe we will get one or two new members to share the experience.

I've been wanting to do this - What do you hand out?

I like the idea of the Longellow grill because we could take a nice scenic drive up the Mississippi river blvd afterwards - the fall colors would probably be coming out by then. It's one of the sites I was going to check out - mainly for parking.

OK, looks like we're on for October 1, 3:00-ish.

I stopped by Longfellow Grill on Friday. It has a nice, big outdoor seating area and the parking is behind the restaurant under the second floor of the building (which is to say it's not very visible from the street). It's right on the corner of Lake (aka Marshall to you St. Paulites) and West Mississippi River Pkwy., so we could do a scenic drive afterwards, so the convoy of E's would make up for not being able to display them in a row in the parking lot.

Does that sound good to everybody?

Element Art
09-18-2005, 04:13 PM
I don't want to be a pain but the parking arrangement is of major importance. It should be a nice spot where we can hangout and look at everyone's mods and stuff. I'm not familiar with the Grill but we want wide open spaces for the Elements. The last get-together we had at a Dunn Bros. Coffee house in White Bear Lake where we could sit out on the patio and look at the Elements. It was really nice.

Actually there is a nice neighborhood surrounding that area. Including a large open and often empty parking lot about 10 blocks from Longfellow Grill. Or even Brackett Field is a few blocks north (away from Lake Street which is pretty busy and noisy).

Also there are a few places on the River Road (kind of like a frontage road to the River Road) that normally isn't filled with cars so maybe we can scope that out and park.

OR!!! Maybe Minnehaha Falls park would be a good place to meet and mingle?

I would think we would find a place for what maybe 10 Elements?

Also I know the guy who owns Electra Tune which is right next to the Longfellow Grill. I can ask him if we can use his parking lot for our meet. He is a great guy.

If you ever need a mechanic outside of the Honda dealer call Electra Tune,
Saeid Sabery, 4522 E. Lake St. Mpls, 612-721-3121. His name is pronounced Sa-eed. One of the last honest mechanics around.

He did some work on my Old Toyota 4-Runner (rusted and broken rear brake line) and an ex-girlfriends Ford Taurus. Typical Ford the Taurus needed a bunch of work (struts, shocks ball joints etc.) Took it to Firestone DT MPLS for an estimate over $1300. Took it to Saeid $650 and he actually fixed more than what was estimated from Firestone. Like I said great guy to know.

If you need to look at the Resturant here is a link to Longfellow Grill (http://www.longfellowgrill.com/)

Well, folks, my plans for the weekend may have changed. Assuming the weather is going to be nice, I will be painting my house on Saturday afternoon (An opportunity for free babysitting came up and I can't turn that down!) So, the way I see it, there are 4 options for our next meet up:

1. Meet without me
2. Meet at noon or at 6:00 p.m. instead of 3:00
3. Reschedule the meet for another day
4. Come to my house and help me paint!

Obviously, I would prefer #4, but I could see why the rest of the group might not find that too appealing. So I guess I'll leave it up to all of you what we should do.

Hi everybody,

I noticed almost everyone on this thread is from the Twin Cities area, well I'm not but here I am anyway. I live about 35 miles past the "end of the road" on Highway 61 by Lake Superior, I say that because probably 99% of the people I talk to that make it to Grand Portage say how surprised they are at how beautiful it is past Grand Marais, and they thought that Minnesota ended at Grand Marais....oh well. It's nice to be unknown, though.....keeps the riff-raff out:grin: I have the cities in my heritage, though, my dad grew up in Brooklyn Center, I have an aunt that lives in Chanhassen, a really good friend in White Bear Lake who used to be a Ford mechanic at Saxon Ford before it shut down (he loves my Element, by the way!), and other relatives from Prior Lake, Eden Prairie, Apple Valley, etc...so basically every corner of the cities. So anyway, hi everybody! It would be great to hear from any other E owners in other parts of the state, too!

^ You think that's much? I don't even admit to living in Minnesota. I moved across the river from La Crosse to Dakota, MN, over two years ago, and today, when a long time Wisconsin friend accused me of being a Minnesotan, I objected strongly. I may own a house in Minnesota but I only happen to sleep here. I'm still a Wisconsinite.

You folks are just too, well, Norwegian. Give me a good German, drunk as a pig, singing out of tune, any day. Here in Minnesota, ya sure and you betcha are great expressions of emotional release. In Wisconsin, an cathartic release is hurling on your buddy. In Minnesota, a guy tells his girl, I love you. A Wisconsinite proves his devotion by cancellng an ice fishing weekend with his high school friends in order to get married. In Minnesota, you yell at somebody who cuts you off in traffic. We folks from Wisconsin wait until they hit a stop and go light and then we'll go pee on their car, but only because we've been drinking Miller for the past 60 miles.

I'm a Wisconsinite.

Aw, heck, I'd even drive up to the Cities. :)

How about a meet at either Fort Snelling or Whitewater State Parks? I've never done Ft. Snelling, although I understand there are walks along the Mississippi if you don't want to do the historic Ft. Snelling/Sibley tours.

For out of town, Whitewater State Park is beautiful. I haven't been there in over 25 years but I remember it fondly. It would be a couple of hours drive out of the Cities.

A third option would be a Sunday afternoon lunch at the Harbor View Cafe in Pepin, Wisconsin. If you have never eaten at the Harbor View Cafe, you don't know what you're missing. There are people who think it has better food than any restaurant in the Twin Cities. It certainly is a couple of orders of magnitude better than anything in La Crosse or Winona. A European based menu that changes often - it's on a blackboard - it is middle expensive. A dinner will run you $25-35 but it is so well worth it, it's not funny. Don't try to eat dinner there on a weekend unless you arrive at least an hour before they open at 4:45 (You get on the list and drink across the street waiting for them to open.). They don't take reservations and even the King of Jordan waited for hours to get a table. Poor king.

For Sunday midday lunch, it is generally no problem in getting a speedy table.

They have the goofiest hours. They are open only two days a week this time of year. By the middle of the summer, they are open 5 days a week. They ramp back down to two days by the end of October and then close for the winter. We should call ahead to make sure they'll be open if we decide to eat here. One other quirk - they don't take credit cards.

Harbor View Cafe would really turn my crank, especially since I read last year, the owners have decided to close it after this season! Dayum! What a shame. I would easily vote for Harbor View. I also sense you and I should meet before St. Louis, outpost4, since we're both going. Perhaps a minor caravan of some kind? You're the moderator - check my stats for email address, etc....

Seems the majority of Twin Cities owners might be relucant to cross town, let alone leave town to meet, but not me.

They can't close!

Actually, I'm not surprised. The Harbor View Cafe had this weird funding credit on Wisconsin Public Radio last summer where they said the show was sponsored in memory of John and Jane Doe (or whomever) and how they left a legacy of travel, good friends and not much money, or something like that. It sounded like the original owners had passed on.

For those of you needing directions, you'll want to cross over the Mississippi at either Red Wing or Wabasha, depending on the direction you're coming from. Then go either south, if you cross at Red Wing, or north, if you cross at Wabasha, on Highway 35 until you get to Pepin, which is amazingly on Lake Pepin. The Harbor View Cafe is on the water overlooking the harbor (again, what a surprise) on the south side of town, which isn't saying much because Pepin is maybe 8 blocks long. You can't miss it.

Only four days from our meetup at the Harbor View Cafe in Pepin this Sunday. I'm hungry already.

Speaking of food, I found a great bar and grill in Hudson, Wisconsin, yesterday. It was called Barker's. I was up there doing work and stumbled into it for lunch. Everything was perfect. Many great beers on tap including Boddingtons. Extra big booths. A diverse menu. I had a grilled chicken Reuben sandwich with excellent home made fries. It was quite different and very tasty. My buddy said his burger was one of the best he'd ever had. It was a little pricey but not bad. For both of us, two lunches and two beers, with a generous tip - the service was excellent, too - it was $35.

I'd recommend it strongly. It was better than anything I'd had in Stillwater when I'd been up there working last fall on this project. Barker's Bar and Grill in Hudson.

The only sad part is, if we actually were in our 20's, we'd have had the energy to tag at least half a dozen other Elements trolling through the tiny burg of Pepin, Wisconsin. I'd have had the impression this was gonna be at least a "baker's dozen" Element meet, based on how many I saw there today, but noooo. Perhaps next time? ("...usin' ideas as my maps, we'll meet in Elements soon, said I, proud 'neath heated brow, ah, but I was so much older than, I'm younger than that now...")*

I enjoyed our last get-together by Lake Pepin. I told you that I had ordered 17 inch tires and wheels so I thought you might like to see them. ...and Greg, I liked your clear side markers so much I ordered some. Mine are a little different and seem OK, but I think I like yours better.

Hey all,

I'm going to be a visiting E owner to the area over the summer (internship), and was wondering if there was any talk of a caravan to the St. Louis Big E-Vent in July. Anyone going? I don't know the area well enough yet to suggest anything other than meeting up, but would be all up for it if there's something going on.

I think a couple of the group are heading down. They'll probably check in to say so. If you're in the Twin Cities this summer we can get a local group together at a coffee shop to chat.

Count me in! I'll be up in two weeks, and with being new to the area, meeting people is something I'd like to do. I'll keep an eye on the thread too, as I guess I'll start to count as a Twin Cities owner now. :)

Your wheel and tire combo looks great, Element Art -- way better than our imaginations could muster from your pics a couple of weeks ago...

Thanks C.
I'm enjoying the combo. You'll have to see them in person before you go to the ends of the Earth.

Another new E owner! Mom picked it up last weekend in Duluth. :D We're not really in the Twin Cities, more like 300 miles north, but that is just a technicality, right? 8) I'm currently looking for a job in the Twin Cities area myself and plan on getting an E myself in the next few years.

Say "Hi!"

It was probably me. I drive 42 every weekday these days. 2006 ASM with the EOC logo on the left rear. I've seen lot's o' E's on that road but no EOC stickers...I think i've only seen one EOC Sticker on an E in MN before our 'mini meet'.

I'll have to keep an eye open for the GGM. Went into the dealer today (Burnsville Honda) for the first oil change. So I saw a couple of E's...but no EOC decals.

thats where i get mine done as well; i had a good buying experience with them and so far they've done a good job earning my business. actually, the last oil change i decided to try fleet farm down 35 - i do synthetic, buy it there and bring it to honda (they don't carry it but will do it if you bring it). i noticed they charged almost $15 less than the total i pay to buy and get it changed at honda, so i thought i'd give it a try. sat in the lobby there for an hour, when i went to ask if it had been done yet (they didn't even acknowledge me for another 10 minutes) - when he finally got to me, he looked in back, said sorry and i'll bring it in right away...are you kidding?!?!! i took my keys then and there and left, there certainly is something to be said for good customer service! i'll still buy the oil there though, it is the cheapest, but i was very disapointed! i'd never had a worse customer experience in my entire life i dont think. I'll take the dealer over that any day (i'm too chicken to DIY, haha!)

my bad, it was you! i dunno why i thought it was a GGM, when i asked her again, she said it was a silver element :)

Guess I'll have to stop zooming up behind all the GGMs I see on 42 then! ;-)

Hey Twin Cities Element owners! Keep an eye out for a bright green Kiwi in town tomorrow and Thursday! I'm going down for job interviews and I'll be all over Shoreview, Bloomington, Edina, and Roseville. Give me a wave if you see me! 8-)

Too far north for me! (I hang out in Woodbury, Eagan, Burnsville these days.)

Good luck on your interviews!

I posted in the thread earlier expressing interest in a mini-meet since I'm new to the Twin Cities, and was wondering if there was any interest in doing one before the end of the month? So, takers? I still don't know the cool places to see and be seen in town, so I'm up for suggestions on location.

Side note - sure are a lot more Es here than in Indiana. Does everyone on the board have the decal? I do, and rarely see others, but I wave nonetheless. Mostly around the East Bank area of the U and downtown Minneapolis.

I'll keep checking in and see how it goes

Look for the big green again tomorrow in the Lakeville and Burnsville area! Mom insisted that I take her E becasue she's afraid that my Toyota will break down. There is nothing wrong with my Toyota, its just fine but since it had a bit of a fix up she's nervous since I have such a long drive. I'll keep on waving to other E owners!

I was in front of another Kiwi last week and saw a blue one heading towards the west bank of campus.

Maybe... Otherwise, what kind of biking is that on your profile? How about a trailhead meet? Lebanon Hills?

I'm in S. Mpls, I may bite an an excuse to get out of the house on a Sunday AM.

hey everyone in the twin cities! i just sold our element, and am parting out some of the accessories - i'm selling the control towers and landing pads from yakima (keeping the rest of the pieces for our new car) - here is the thread with details if anyone is interested, i'd prefer to sell it locally to avoid the hassle of shipping.

maybe i'll bring by our new yaris to the next meet (i'm almost as obsessed with it as the element!)
