I am considering getting dunlop rover a/t for my 04 element. I live in NY and I need year round tires, but mostly concerned with snow and traction. My tire size is p215/70r16. Any suggestions or comments?

Any help is greatly appreciated

Can't comment on the Dunlops as I have no experience with them, but I can recommend the tires I purchased. Cooper Discoverer H/T's in the OEM size. They have done very well in the snow and ice of the Smoky Mountains. Actually we had some glare ice last winter that nothing did very well in, but overall, I think the new tires performed very well.

One caveat though. I found a tremendous difference in price amongst Cooper dealers. You shouldn't pay more than $80 per tire, mounted and balanced.

Also, Cooper markets the same tire under the brand "Mastercraft." You may find these at a slightly lower price.

Use the "Search" feature of this forum. There are many, many, many thoughts, opinions etc. Or go to the "Tirerack website" for suggestions and tire ratings.

After re-reading your original post, I see that you are probably more interested in a more aggressive tread than the H/T. In that case I would suggest looking at the Dayton Timberline A/T. I have these on my Jeep CJ and am very pleased. Relatively reasonably priced also.

I just got my Yokohama Geolanders and I love them. I did some research on this site and on tirerack.com for reviews of tires. It's a great all around tire. I would encourage you to look at those. I got mine at Discount Tire for $87.50 each. A bit high but the customer service was second to none.
