It's been six month's since the beastie's last oil change, which was also his first. According to the Maintenance Schedule, at 10,000 miles I should change the oil and rotate the tires. Trouble is, the beastie's got less than 7,500 miles on him. It'll be at least three more months before I hit five digits. My question: Should I bring the beastie in to the dealer and do the 10,000 mile service, or should I just replace the oil and check my fluid levels, and worry about the tire rotation in November?
Thanks!

I would go ahead and change it. I go by the severe driving conditions recommended service schedule (Oil Change every 5k) because I satisfy a 3 of the 5 conditions.
- Trips of less than 5 miles (less than 10 in freezing weather)
- Extremely hot weather (over 90 degrees F)
- Extensive idling or stop-and-go driving
I see you are in Boston so you probably satisfy all of these also unless you don't drive in rush-hour traffic.
My 2 cents.

I would wait and do both the oil and the tires at 10,000. Since you aren't driving much I'd go with the 5,000 mile changes to compensate for the longer time period between changes.
Rotation seems to be a necessity on the crappy OEM tires, as the wear is different on the front and back, at least it was on mine.

In addition to Mikey's post, the severe schedule lists all of those time frames and one other OR every 6 months. I'd change it. For $20-$30 for an oil change why take a chance.

Deffently, my right passenger tire is showing wear, at 9k. Inflated properly also.
