Hey everybody. I've been lurking here for a coupla months, and just wanted to post some pics of my new E. It's an 05 LX AWD that I bought for work and I gotta admit, it's growing on me. My kids (5 of them) call it the thing. I must agree.

The only complaint I have about the E is the gas mileage. My Suburban gets better mileage, 20 on the highway. The Element is only getting about 18 or 19. This would have been a deal-breaker. My 97 Grand Caravan (traded in) got 27 on the highway. But I do have resale value with the Element which the Dodge did not have. Oh, and I need to get some gunmetal 18" wheels on here like NOW!! I also own a 92 Galant VR4 to satisfy my incessant need for high-boost situations

So, lets see I am a 37 year old, married, black, self-employed, father of 5 who drives an Element that won't see the back seats until it is sold. Surely Honda never saw this coming. I must be committing demographic murder or something. Nice to meet all of you.

Sean

Welcome Aboard bleck. Nice ride. I'm the proud owner of a '04 SOP. You made a good choice by getting it and also by joining the club. Lots of great people with great ideas and awesome looking "E"s. Any question you may have about your E I guarantee you'l find a fellow owner with the answer. Lots of knowledgeable people in this club (right Empire)....Best of luck with the car...............

Thanks much, Rube. Looks like we're neighbors. If you guys ever have a local meet/excuse to get together, let me in. Seems like a cool board you guys have here, although I gather I'm one of the old guys.

Welcome, from some other posts here the mileage increases after the factory oil is changed at the first oil change. I can't say though for sure because I haven't quite made it there yet. I'm pulling 19.5 to 21 mpg depending on how I drive. Yes I think your right, probably not the target audience but then most of us here aren't. Myself included.

OLD??? The only thing I know that gets old is "bread".......
We ripen. Just get better (and wiser) with age. The thing to keep in mind is that we've made it this far. If I told ya my first "new" car was a 1970 VW Beetle would it give you an idea of how long I've been around. How about the fact that I'm a Vietnam veteran.... Get my drift..I'm just as young as driving my SOP makes me feel.......Hope to meet up with you at a future Northeast coast meet.....

 You guys are funny. Well, I guess it's as old as I've ever been. To be honest though, thanks to the renewed committment to going to the gym everyday, I feel younger than I have in years, so, I agree. Btw, 75 Buick Century was my first ride... with the Paisley seats. And at this point I think even I have stuff older than me in my garage. :)

You're in luck, maybe. NJ and NY locals have decided to meet in Wildwood on August 20th. Here's the thread:
